Ok, well last night, I went to the bathroom, wiped and had a little bit of bleeding. I went straight to the emergency room, where they did blood work and scanned baby. The doc said I have a subchorionic hemorrhage, or hematoma, one of the two, (cant remember) and that I need to be on bed rest, and rest my pelvis, no sexual activity, and to call my OB on monday for an apt. I am scared! We saw peanut again and peanut looked fine, looked bigger and heartbeat was 122....
Has anyone else had this happen?
Doc said that these things normally resolve themselves and baby should be ok, that only about 10% of these go bad, but I cant help but worry........

I had a inter-uterine hematoma, but mine was outside the gestational sac (so not sub-chronic) and near my cervix. It had reabsorbed at my 12 week scan but I had 3 occasions of bleeding before then as it came away.

i had one with my dd. But mine again was below the sac. I had 2 lots of bleeding and it was gone by 12 weeks. I used to work in a early scan department and we saw these all the time. Think a few a week at least.and with them all i can only remember 1 time that it didnt end well. All the rest sorted its self out x

hi - i also have a haematoma but it isnt near the sac it is on the opposite side of the uterus....

i have had 2 bleeds and so far 2 scans, one when with the 1st bleed and another 2 weeks later - the little bubba had grown and was ok but i was told to expect more bleeding... i have another reassure scan in 2 weeks and then my 12 week scan in 4 weeks, am hoping it would have been reabsorbed by then...

it is very frightening bleeding, esp as i had a mmc in the summer so thought was losing it, the scans were very reassuring and my doctors didnt seem to be too concerned...

hope everything is OK - have they offered you another scan in a couple of weeks? if not, i would ask for this.

I got subchronic hematoma too, just waiting for the day i "bleed" The doctor said I was lucky its not in the sac and three small ones. still it's not nice, I haven't bled yet. I'm 9 weeks... x x

I have a Subchorionic Hemorrhage as well. I also had a small amount of spotting so I went to the ER where they found it. It's a small one, 1cm and the doctor doesn't seem too concerned about it. She hasn't put me on any restrictions. I have a scan this week to see if it's gotten any bigger. I was seven weeks when they found it and I'll be 10 weeks when I have my scan.

hya hun i have a subcronic hematoma on the lining of the sac it started out at 1cm then by the time i was 8 weeks it had gotten to 3cm i started bleeding really heavy so i went the next day for a scan and it had reduced in size the next day i lost a really really large clot when i went to the toilet but it was in a sealed bag like thing and was sitting in the bottom of the toilet (sorry TMI) it was like it was in its own sac or sumthing i thort i had lost the baby so they put me in for another scan and it was still 1.7mm so it is disolving slowly. I was told by my doctor that nearly all of them decrease in size and disolve by 20 weeks and that they just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesnt get any bigger and if it does they just watch it as it can cause early labor. Youl be fine hun they are very common. Good Luck  to you xx

I had a SCH with my last pregnancy. I think you might find this group useful:

Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy :flower:

Thank you so much for all of your responses! :hugs: The doctor told me I need to be on bedrest, no lifting anything, no sex, etc. etc. so I am definitely following her orders. She didnt say anything about the size, or where it is, etc. etc... she just drew a picture and explained to me what they are, and how more then likely everything will be ok, even though she says it, it doesnt help though, worry all day now  Yes she told me I do need to see my OB, and hopefully my OB will do a scan, just to see how thing are looking. I guess it is just hard, I know there is always that risk, and I just dont like the fact I am going to be bleeding, and the doc tells me not to worry...How am i not supposed to worry when I am bleeding while pregnant!/? Anyways, thank you so much ladies for the responses, all the stories do seem positive, so it does help to with the positive thinking

I had one in 2004 with DS, scared the heck out of me. I had a huge bleed at 9 weeks, diagnosed with a subcronic hermorage. It resolved itself at about 20 weeks and everything was fine. I think they are fairly common.

They are very common and hun some of them resolve without any bleeding at all i know its easier said than done but try not to worry i still have mine even tho its half the size now lol just hang in there and you'll be OK BIG  to you and lots of :dust:

I have experience with this. I was diagnosed with it at 9 weeks (though I bleed for 3 weeks before a specialist was able to tell me what it was). Now, at 19 weeks, I have not had any bleeding for almost 5 weeks, except for one time at 16 1/2 weeks. I went for a scan then, and they couldn't find a reason for the bleed, the hematoma which was measuring at 7cm (or was it mm? I can't remember) at 14 weeks was just gone. I have a rescan at 20 weeks, just to make sure, but it looks like mine finally dissolved after a very long, very bloody stressful first trimester.

First, from looking at your ticker, we must have the same due date! Both of us 6 weeks and 5 days!

Second, I was just diagnosed with the same thing today! I just started a thread before I realized you already started one. I should have looked before I wrote. :) I agree that it's so hard not to worry! But my dr basically said the same things - that most of the time these things work themselves out but to take it easy just to be on the safe side. She also said no sex and no vigorous exercise. I'm trying to stay really calm about it, and am going to rest as much as possible. I go back in 3 weeks for an ultrasound to see if the tear went away.

I'm sure you are fine - try to rest and not stress too much, although I know it's easier said than done. When you go to your OB, they can hopefully tell you the size of the hemorrhage. If it's small, that might make you feel better. Mine was less than a centimeter, which I guess is really small. The smaller the better, from what I understand.

i had subchronic hematoma with my daughter's pregnancy, it was VERY VERY bad. I bled like you would turn on a FAUCET.. no joke. This went on here and there for a few weeks, one time even resulting in a blood transfusion. I now have a AWESOME 3 yr old daughter!! i was also bedrested for 15 weeks :)

:) try not to worry

I also had one detected at the hospital when I "thought I was 6 weeks , but was 7 weeks . I went in for side pain . Mine was 3cm by 2cm by 8mm. The Dr there told me I had a 50 50 chance of miscarriage , but baby looked good. Of course this is what I wanted to hear after already having had 3 m/c in the last year and a half. Well when I talked to my Dr he said not to worry about it at all and all was fine . It was still there at my 9wk 5day ultrasound. I never bled once , untill the day I hit 12 wks and it was just a little bit of spotting. I had my NT scan at 12 wks 5 days and spotted that morning too , the sch was gone. Its crazy never bled or spotted when I had the sch , but I do after it goes away.
What my Dr said about my spotting "Dont give it a second thought, its growing pains. Im now almost 15 weeks and all seems well. Im sure it is , but I just worry all the time. Last time I had a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks, but baby died at 8 weeks.
