Success IUI or IVF with abnormal SA?

My dh and I have been ttc for almsot 2 years now. We have been referred to a fertility specialist. I have had an hsg, ultra sounds, and tons of blood work done and they think everything looks great with me (although I think I'm having trouble ovulating) so I have decided to start charting my bbt each month to take to the FS. My dh had one SA done about 4 months ago and It turned out abnormal. His morphology is only at 13% normal, and also the count and motility was low aswell. They won't do anything else for us now, just send us to another Dr. Has any one had a success with IUI? Or with our case do you think Invitro is the better option? Obviously I know our Dr. will discuss the best options but I'm just a little nervous and want to be prepared for our first visit. What happens at your first visit w/ a fs? Thanks so much

13% isn't THAT bad honestly.. I think 15% is the minimum of what they expect to see so you're not far off from that. My DH had only 4% normal and a slightly low count of 19 million. I immediately read up on how we could improve this. The good news: sperm CAN improve. Come time for our IUI a few months later- his numbers POST wash (which means he probably had about twice as many before that) were 37 million and 98% motility- MUCH MUCH better numbers. It worked the first try! I unfortunately miscarried around 7-8 weeks but regardless- I DID get pregnant- and again, his numbers were MUCH better. I definitely think IUI is worth 3-4 tries.

What my husband took ~ multivitamin, 50mg of zinc, 800 mg of folic acid, omega 3~ 900mg, and pycnogenol 150mg a day, 2 tsp of royal jelly. If you google each of those with men and fertility- you'll get a slew of great articles.
