Hey guys!

I am not totally new to the infertility subject. I went through infertility treatments with my daughter. I ended up doing a cycle of follistim with an hcg shot, and then my ex husband was able to do it the "natural" way. However I am divorced now and just had my boyfriend tested. His total count was at 74 million, but only 15 and half million were live and he only had about 20% motility. I started him on fertilaid for men a couple weeks ago, but was trying to see what others are using. My main issue is he has issues with his throat so any pills I get have to be mixed into juice or pudding (sooo annoying) lol. I am thinking of adding Maca to the mix, but wondered what others are doing and if they have had any success? I am trying not to get too discouraged so any good thoughts would be appreciated!

Hi

OH and I are awaiting IVF due to male factor. Our FS told OH to take 1000mg of Vit c (he has the disolvable tablets), Vitamin E and Zinc. I have recently got OH to start taking fertility plus for men and iv started taking fertility plus for women

We are awaiting OH's 4th set of results - we get these on teh 21st Feb. These results will show what the Vit C, E and Zinc have done - so fx they have improved his swimmers

Nicole, I can't help too much with the names of supplements but my OH's count improved from quitting smoking, eating more fruits and vegetables and remembering to take his multivitamins every day. His first SA was 8 mil & 35% motility and his next SA 8 months later was 15mil and 40% motility. There are so many factors to think about. Your OH SA doesn't seem too bad where you couldn't get lucky with a BFP. I think the record for a natural pregnancy with low sperm count it 2 mil so anything can happen. Good luck!

Maca did wonders for my OH - he had low motility though count was ok - his doctor couldn't believe the improvement when he was retested after 3 months on maca - especially as he'd put us forward for IVF saying there was no way to improve motility!! We got pregnant naturally m/c first and then our daughter and I really believe maca helped.

OH is back on the maca now while we try and conceive number 2.

Good Luck!

My dh's count went from 20 mil to 78 mil (and all other factors also improved but don't have the figures at hand) after taking the following for 8 consecutive months:

Fertility Plus for Men
1000mg vit C (dissoluble)
75mg Co-Enzyme Q10
Extra High-Strength Cod liver oil

Vitamin E is also important (but be careful not to give him too much as Vitamin A and E are unlike other vitamins).

My dh refused to take pills at first and he still gags. I opened one of the fertility plus and put it in a sandwich but he said it was far worse. Now he is really good at taking them and has seen the positive effects.

My husband has been taking fertilaid and the doctor just put him on Clomid

I just ordered fertilaide for DH and for myself. I also ordered fertilaide CM. I do know that sperm count can dramatically drop and rise from day to day with no rhyme or reason, so it can be hard to tell if the supplements are working. My DH had 2 SAs- first 2.3mil/ml and the second 9.8mil/ml, both 2 weeks apart. Hopefully the fertilaide will make a difference, I've heard some good things about it.

My DH saw a urologist for his low motility and morphology and he recommended an herbal supplement called ProXeed. It comes in powder form and you have to dissolve it in 4 ounces of liquid and drink it. He does that 2 times a day and has to take it before another SA in 6 months. Hopefully we wont have to do another SA and we'll be pregnant before then!

hi ladies, thanks for your suggestions. today we got DH's test results back - very bad: 1 million 10% movement. I was horrified but at least it explains why we haven't fallen pregnant. FS suggested immediate IUI or ICSI based on another SA test which DH is doing next week. It all seems very rushed so its good to hear DH can try some things before we start.

you can try to intake vitamin C and Vitamin E. Vitamin E is VERY important (but be careful not to give him too much, because it will be toxic).

hi ladies, I have written down the list of vitamins and will be making a trip down the the pharmacy very soon. thank you
