Hi all,

I have just been diagnosed with SVT after a 24 hour tape (my heartrate goes up to 150bpm) I have an upcoming appt for an echocardiogram and a 7 day tape so that the cardiologist can get a better picture of what's happening. He has said that he probably won't need to see me again (as I don't really want treatment unless things get dire) but I'm concerned about the strain of labour on my heart.

I'm due to be induced early at 37/38 weeks for separate reasons and my own consultant obstetrician is also concerned that I'm not getting any follow up, not to mention the fact that the 7 day tape won't be completed until 2 weeks before I give birth! So not a lot of time to put a plan into place should one be needed.

Does anyone here suffer with SVT and if so, how do you manage it and have you had anything put into place with regards to managing a natural labour?

Thank you :flower:

Me, I have a svt and last pregnancy I had one bad episode where I had to go to the er but other than that everything was fine. Birth was no problem at all. No svt or pvc or anything.

Before labor around 34week I had a complete cardiac exam. Echo, halter and saw a maternal cardiac specialist. If you don't get it exercising then I wouldnt worry. Plus if you do go into a svt during labour they would give you something for it quick. On a reassuring note I'm pregnant right now and have had zero issues (knock on wood). Some say that pregnancy can some how fix the problem.

I was also induced due to her small growth.
