My little sister is going to be inseminated wit my husbands semin to create a baby. When the baby is born I am going to adopt the baby. We are not going to the doctor to do the insemination due to the fact we don't have that kind of money. We also live in Massachusetts.

Does anyone know the proper steps for adopting your stepchild and for inseminating someone.

Please no negative remarks

That sounds interesting... I don't know much about it, but if I was you I would see a lawyer and come up with a contract indicating that your sister agrees to be inseminated and carry your child to term, any medical issues that should be discussed such as payment of medical bills or whatever, and that she agrees to give custody to you once the baby is born. That way it is documented she is a surrogate and that while the child is technically hers, she is agreeing that you are to be the mother on record- if that makes sense....

I agree with cutestuff. It also varies greatly by state law. I know that in Michigan, the surrogate has complete parental rights over even biological parents, and no contract or legal agreement will give you that baby if the surrogate changes her mind.

I wish you the best of luck! Keep us posted on what you find out and how it's going.
