My 19 month-old and I have been going to mother and baby swimming lessons since he was 6 months old. When I got pg my hubby started getting in the pool, but last time the water seemed so inviting and relaxing, and I had my swimsuit in the bag, so I go it instead. While in the shower another mom asked if I was allowed to swim in warm water because of the pregnancy, and it got me thinking... The water is not hot like in a hot bath, it's just warm cos it's autumn where I live, and it's an inside pool.

As long as it doesnt make you feel faint/dizzy its fine. I really wouldnt worry about it at all x

My aqua natal classes are in the warmer kiddie pool not in the general swim pool so much be fine, its more like in hot tubs where you have a prolongued hot temperature that can raise your internal body temp and cause you to over heat that is an issue. :)

You'll be fine as its not a hot tub etc. I went in with DS all through DD pregnancy and will do the same with DD in this pregnancy. In fact I've seen many pregnant people in my children's lessons go on and have babies. Just remember not to go in after the birth until you stop bleeding or 6 week check up, I think our guidelines on our pool is.

Yeah it's good for you. The only problem is if it's actually hot, you shouldn't have your body temp raised so if it makes you feel hot and sweaty then no but even baths are fine if they are not too hot, great for baby position and pain relief to.

It's fine, the baby pool where I swim is 32 degrees and the pool I use 30 degrees. Check with your pool, as long as it's 32 and under it's perfectly fine! Swimming while pregnant is great for you :-D

Thanks for the responses ladies! :hugs: truth is it felt great! And I got to relax for a while after the class... It felt like a shame to not be able to keep on doing it.

It wouldn't have occurred to me that that could be bad tbh! Enjoy xx
