Hello
i really want to take LO swimming, he 8 weeks, do you think this is too young?
Do you take your LO swimming?
How old are they?
Thanks xx

I was told by gp around 12 weeks. Think they like them to have had their injections. Some public pools can be a bit rank.

Lylah is 9weeks and im taking her on friday.
I did some reasearch on google, and nowadays its safe enough to take them from 6 weeks I read. She has had one set of injections so far.
I think its up to the individual, but the fact they make swimming costumes from 0-3 months, I think it should be ok.

i was told there is no age limit anymore, it used to be after immunisations but they say it makes no difference, i have been taking annabelle since she was about 6 weeks old and she absolutely loves it

Now they say you dont have to wait for injections but its up to you.

We went swimming for the first time at 10 weeks though. As LO was used to water by then and enjoying 'swimming' in the bath!

I think we took tobes at around 6 weeks. He loooves swimming!!!! x

Cant wait to take Rosie with her big brother! might take her in this week instead of spectating :)

I took Tabitha at 2months, i was told there was no age limit and she totally loved it :)

how long would you leave them in at 8 weeks old? 20 mins?

I was told 15-20 mins. But Aidan always tells us when he's had enough.

ooooh we're off on holiday in a week, Halle will be 11 weeks then and we're def going swimming! :happydance:

aww i cant wait to take leyley swimming, i do have a qu though, u know them swimming costume things that keep them warm underwater thyre like a big velcro thing, do they have to go on over a real swimming costume? or just a swimming nappy and that? if anyone even knows what i mean lol

Good question, i've only brought a swimming nappy thing.... didn't realise you could get a costume to keep them warm! :dohh:

we took maddi at 8weeks and she adored it! we stayed in for 30mins :D we now (since oct) go to our lessons once a week, and i normally take her again during the week/at weekends with daddy too :D

Would love to take Kathryn swimming, but our public pool is outdoors and doesn't open until the summer. The YMCA has an indoor heated pool, but they charge $30 (per day) to get a day pass to use it, so I'll have to wait untill the summer.
