My 7 month old DS is breastfed and refuses a bottle or a cup. We've tried loads of things for months now but he won't have anything. He won't even drink water from a cup.
I've left him with grandparents for 4 hours before, and he's managed fine especially now he has solids but I'm due to leave him for 7 or 8 hours and that seems to long without a drink. I'm wondering if it's worth trying syringing in tiny bits of water or milk with a medicine syringe? He swallows medicine this way when he's poorly. But medicine is obviously more gloopy so water/milk might shoot straight to back of throat more and causing gagging? But it might keep him hydrated and maybe could be a step towards the cup somehow?
Is this a really bad idea or worth a try? Anyone done this?
