Tattoos, for losers?

Lol! I had 1st tattoo at 17... just had butterflies, daisys, cherry blossoms and swirls going from top of spine down and across lower back linking with 5 stars i had done (1st tattoo)! i love them! i am so wanting a sleeve now! xx

I want a sleeve too :D One of mine is on my upper left arm and I sooo want it extended all the way down :D

Wow, some people are taking this really seriously. I didn't mean this thread to cause any offence.

I can't help but wonder what point this was trying to prove when you start the topic saying people with tattoos are losers...were you expecting a hug? You've managed to piss off half a forum.. congratulations.

damn and there was me thinging i was cool :coolio:

it is not my fault if people get upset, it is just a discussion! btw even my oh has tattoos, so obviously I don't think he is a loser. I have just noticed that amongst my uni friends there are very few that have tattoos, whereas amongst tradies etc there are so many more! and that was my point. I am just having a discussion why they appeal to some groups more than others.

OK, I have to gree with her slightly, it does tend to be the way, most guys I know with tattoos are indeed from a low socio-economic/disadvantaged background.

You've basically called half the forum losers and criminals..and you were honestly not expecting people to get offended..wow..just wow...

I have a degree and am applying to do my masters and lots of my friends at university had tattoos too :)
I guess it just depends on the people you meet to a point.

 I'm not offended by what others think (doesn't make them correct in their assumptions). If I was, I guess we'd have to close BnB and other websites/businesses and wait for our government benefits to come through (maybe knock off the local off-licence while we're at it)

My Grandfather, and Uncle have tattoos.

Both are University educated, both served as Officers in the Army, passed through Sandhurst, and my Grandfather served on the front line retiring as a Major. My Uncle played polo, and now runs his own marketing company after he left the Army. Both socialise in 'upper' circles.

Maybe people get tattoos, not because of their social background but because they like them? Just a thought... :winkwink:

Lol!! Love it!!! x

I think that statement that people with tattoos are criminals etc is from like 80 years back when the average person who would get a tattoo were sailors, bikers and all those "though" kinda guys who were more likely to end up in prison.

Then it became all trendy and everyone started having tattoos, thus now tattooed ppl are everywhere :happydance:

I am at uni so all my friends are from academic circles and some of them are heavily tattooed, so i think that myth is totally outdated..
at least no one gets shunned no more for having tattoos :haha:

I have tattoos, to me they are beautiful they represent my OH and my beautiful children :cloud9: I think that really is a very bold statement but each to their own, its not going to make me love my tattoos any less

I dont think this thread is even worthy of replying. And certainly not worthy of people getting upset over.
Its too darn stupid of a thing to think let alone making a thread about! Closedminded and old fashioned much?

Not really sure why you class Uni people as higher class than tradies? In the UK a 'tradie' which I guess would be a plumber, a builder, a roofer... can earn a lot more than someone who has gone to Uni. I have been to University, and I am now a plumber which I guess would be what you would class a a tradie (a low class criminal...) I earn an absolute fortune now and live in a lovely house (and yes I have a tattoo  (which I got when I was at Uni).

It is your fault when you make such blatently offensive comments.

My 'tradie' fiance (who owns his business) makes a shit load more money that alot of 'Uni' people we know :D

If you want have a discussion, do it without causing offence next time.

I have over 20 tattoos..so I wont get started on what I think of this thread :D

I went to Uni, and did Aerospace Engineering. Now, through the TA I am getting a trade so that if I choose to in future I can do it as a job. You're right too, tradesmen can earn a fortune!
