hi all,

how many different tax credits are there, i know there child tax credits, working tax credits, but is tax credits the same thing as child tax credits?
:baby:
also is it true that we can claim working tax credits whilst on mat leave and getting mat pay? i read somewhere we can get it for 26 wks into maternity leave whilst getting mat pay.

ive paid my taxs for yrs so tryibng to work out what i can get back
so far,
1. child benefit
2.child tax credits
3.maybe working tax creds.

also when we apply for all these tax credits is it all on the same form or loads or different forms?

i live with my partner so they will take both earnings into account, also im waiting for baby to come to apply.
cheers guys xx

As far as I know there are only child tax credits and working tax credits. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. And everyone can get child benefit x

there is only working tax credits, and child tax credits. They are means tested

There is also child benefit - but everyone gets that.

when u apply for tax credits - its one form and they will work out if ur entitled to child and/or working tax credits.

Child benefit is a different form xx

The best thing you can do is phone the tax credits helpline and they will give you an estimate of what you can get! We tried doing it online etc but with DF just going self employed and me on varying mat pay rates it was near on impossible! They were very helpful and informative :)

Our baby isn't here yet but they worked it out for when he/she arrives :)
