So I am desperately waiting my renewal pack throught the post from tax credits as I'm pretty sure I'm owed quite a bit from them as my actual income for last year was £7000 less than what I estimated. Estimated £17000 but actual £10000.

I phoned them yesterday and they said I can't renew until I receive my renewal pack, which is quite frustrating, she did say I would very likely receive a bit of money back, but she wouldnt tell me how much! just would love an idea of how much I'm likely to be owed, anybody got a rough estimate,??xxx

You could go on the calculator and work out what you would get in each scenario and just calculate the difference? HMRC tax credits calculator.

Thank you, according to that It looks like I could be due over £2500 !!!!!! I am hoping this is right ha ha I will believe it when I see it x

Oh exciting good luck! They are pretty good for paying quickly once records are updated :)

I'm not sure if they only back date upto 3 months now? Or is that if your new claim isn't processed for long period and not if they've underpayed you?

I'm not to sure.... I hope I'm wrong xxxx

Isnt the backdating only relating to new claims? I imagine if you have an existing claim and they were paying you pm based on 17k but you only got 10k which is a certain figure you couldnt get til year end then surely they should have to pay what your owed. Lol. I hope you get ot sorted hun.

Xx

If they owe it they should pay it once you complete annual review. Am hoping for an extra payment too as oh wages dropped 7k in September and we started getting childcare voucher which meant wages dropped another 243 a month! As we have had no tax credits at all this year am now hoping for a payout! Good luck and he you get what you want...

Hey girls. I have finally received my annual renewal pack yesterday so phoned them to renew, the man on phone said its all been updated on system and to expect a one off payment but can take up until 6 weeks, does anyone have any experience of them patying this a bit quicker than the 6 weeks??? I feel like I've been waiting sooooo long ....!!!! Xxx

Imho tax credits have always been pretty past at paying, in fact I'd keep checking your bank as you usually get the money in the bank before the letter to say to expect it! I got a payment a few weeks ago and then a letter 2 days later.

Child benefit on the other hand....gahhhhhhh 4 weeks later and still waiting for a payment and I only changed my bank details.....:sigh:
