Is there a way to bookmark the last post I read in a thread?

I'm reading some journals but have to hunt for the last bit I read everytime I come back to it

In your user cp, there is a little upside down grey triangle to the left of the post title. Click it and it will take you automatically to the first unread post in a thread

it doesn't seem to be working, it always takes me to the latest post, not the last one I read
