Telling people

Ah this is one I have thought about quite a few times! We havent really told anyone we're actively TTC. OH's mum knows that we plan to have children in the future, but not right this second and I doubt I would tell my parents because they arent the most supportive when it comes down to me doing anything other than getting a job with lots of money :haha:

So we decided it would be best to avoid the hassle and keep it to ourselves. :flower:

I made the mistake of telling too many people and now I'm getting hit with the whole "Why aren't you pregnant yet?" questions. If I could do it again I would only tell my parent's and my closest friends. It's especially awkward when they start hitting you wth the pity look and "Well you know you can always adopt." My husband and I have been trying since August and we've accepted that it may take a while.

I think it's the couples decision for who they tell and when they do concieve when they actually tell people. We've already made that decision to wait until we are at least 10 weeks to tell our friends, maybe 8 weeks to tell our families. My mother miscarried at 6 weeks. She had told everyone that she was pregnant the day before it happened so I think I will listen to her advice and wait a bit. Hope this helps. Good luck!

There is nothing wrong with keeping it to yourselves. It can be a nice time for just the two of you to enjoy. If it happens I'm sure you're parents will be overjoyed, right now they're just being parents ;).
