I am sorry if posting in this section offends anyone as my DH and I have not been TTC for over 12 months. My DH and I have been TTC since Nov 07. My DH had testicular torsion when he was 4 on one testicle and they unfortunately did not save the testicle he then had it again when he was 13 on the other testicle and they caught it pretty early but there was some damage. He then had testicular fixation in which they anchor the testicle to the scrotum. He had a SA shortly after the testicle was anchored and he had a low sperm count and high rate of deformities. Next month he is having another SA done because I recently had another miscarriage (very early I didn't even know I was pregnant until after). I guess it is a good sign that we can get pregnant but after 2 perhaps 3 miscarriages I am starting to lose hope that DH has enough normal sperm to create a healthy pregnancy. I dont really need any advise just to vent for a bit.

ETA: I have very mild PCOS so I have been trying to lose weight to see if that will help

Oh sweetheart - you vent away.

What advice has your doctor given you?

Bx x :hugs::hugs:

What were his values then?

You are right, getting pregnant without medical intervention is a great sign! Although there is plenty of speculation in the medical community, there is no definite link between an abnormal sperm count and the rate of miscarriages but consultants will be fast to point fingers at weight and normal miscarriage rate and so on.

When are you getting the results from the other SA?

It makes me mad that the doctor is blaming my PCOS on my weight considering I am at a healthy BMI (high end of healthy but still normal) and I was just a tiny bit about normal when I saw him last. When DH was younger his SA was (I am trying to remember but I can't remember it all) Sperm count was 9 million, Motility was around 50% but the doctor said that was normal, and his I forget what they called it but the amount of sperm that was normal shaped was 20%. He has been taking vitamins in hopes that his sperm count will go up. It is just so frustrating the doctor doesn't seem to understand what we are going through and for us it hasn't even been that long. My heart gos out to the women who have been trying for years without success it must be heartbreaking.
