So I went in for my elective c section on mondaynthe 4th of February, and it really was an amazing experience in comparison to my first with DD.
We went in at 7.30am and were greeted by our nurse, she took us into a side room and I put on my gonna and OH put his scrubs on, had my bp done and was told to stay warm as this reduces infection after surgery.
Luckily for us there were only 2 of us in to have sections that day and even luckier for me I was first on the list.
We were taken to our room and ten mins later called for surgery by this time I was crying a bit as the reality had hit me! We got to theatre and they put in my canular and spinal block which didn't hurt just felt uncomfortable, within minutes my legs were feeling warm and fuzzy and I started to go numb, they laid me down and put in a catheter and shaved me down below, once I was numb the began to cut me open, I was chatting away to my OH and asking him to explain the off side rule and other football facts to take my mind off things, not sure why football because I hate sport but it worked and the next thing we hear is crying from our little girl.
They quickly showed me her and took her over to get checked, OH cut her chord and bought her to me, we had quick cuddles before they weighed her, then they bought her strait back.
After 40 mins of stitching back up I was taken to recovery genre strait Away we did skin to skim. My temp had dropped so they took a while to bring it back up, we were back on he ward by 11.30 and home on the 6th feb.

Recovery is going well I was up and about after 6 hours post surgery and feel great today, my tummy has already shrunk down but is still swollen but I feel well and coping with pain at the moment. All in all a great birth experience.
