I'm planning/hoping to breastfeed exclusively. My husband and I have our own business and will be bringing the baby with us to work, so I don't have to worry about pumping on a daily basis. I'd like to get a pump though, so that I have it if I need it. Because I won't be using it a ton, I don't want to spend a fortune. I don't want to buy a piece of junk either, though!

Anyone use "The First Years miPump Double Breast Pump" or know anyone who has? I've read reviews online, but figured I'd ask on here and see if anyone had any feedback on that one or on another inexpensive one for occasional use.

Thanks girls!

I haven't personally used it but may I suggest getting a manual one? I tried 2 inexpensive ones...Evenflo and then another brand I can't remember...and I ended up with clogs like no other, someone told me it might be because of how those sucked, it didn't mimic a baby right and therefore wasn't working as well for pumping. I don't know how true it is but after that I bought and Ameda which is great, but expensive for barely using it. I got a Medela manual one with Hayden and I actually LOVED it, I didn't use it often so it wasn't a pain having to do it myself, I could control exactly how it sucked. I really liked it, though some people don't like the manual ones.

Maybe I should just try a manual one. I actually have a Medela manual one that someone gave me and I'd totally forgotten about...just need to get a couple of things for it (new hosing and a new breast shield, I think). Then if that doesn't go well I could get an automatic and try that. Did yours have the thing that you pull in and out to pump or the thing that you squeeze? This one has the thing you pull and push, and it does seem like you'd need 3 hands for it. Seems like it would be worth a try for just a few bucks in parts, though!

It was the kind that you pull and push...it seemed like it might be hard at first but it really isn't at all :)

Never heard of it in my experiance manual ones are too much hard work ...for only pumping now and again the melda mini is great x
