Not shortened to Lilly, just Lillian. Opinions?

I really like the name, but it seems very "grown up" for a baby IYKWIM? then I remember they're not babies forever

I really like it . It was my great nans name and we did consider Lilliana (as it sounds a bit more girly) as one of our name options. xx

i like it but everyone will probably end up shortening it to lilly even if you dont want them to!

I like it and very nearly chose it for Lilia but decided to lose the n to update it slightly. I love traditional names though

I have just a Lily, my family thought I'd register her Lillian but I like just Lily. :) x

I like it :)
It's my grandma's name...but people will shorten it..it happens with every name!

My best friend has a little girl who is called Lilian, but we all call her Lily for short. It probably will; get shortened unless u specifically say "its LILIAN" hehe xx

It's very pretty but it will get shortened! xx

I am not sure what to think of it tbh, it is very girls tho! x

I like it and I think it'll suit a baby very well. They make any name their own. Who would have thought that babies could suit Harry or Oscar a few years ago and now you see lots and they're actually really cute baby names.
Having said that, one of my favourite names ever is Lillith, so that'd win over Lillian for me.
Would you mind if other people called her Lilly? Because as others have said, there would definitely be some.

People already started calling my daughter Kate, instead of Caitlyn. They get corrected pretty quick

I tend to prefer old people names at the minute  Like Harriet and Grace

I like Lilian it's very pretty it would suit a little girl very well and it's a name that will still sound sensible when she is older. As Amygdala said lots of older names are back now and sound really lovely for little children.

I love this name, it was also my Nan's name! I think old fashioned names sound lovely, but it will get shortened to Lily! If you decide against it for a first name it would make a nice middle name, and middle names don't get shortened! :winkwink:

I really like it but my worry was that it sounded a little old - but then again Ruby made a come back so why not!

I also like Lilia.

I like Lillian, its my mothers name,
I told my mom if some how my little man comes out female I would name her lillian. lol
