Had my second lesson today, made it as far as 3rd gear
He's said I'll need more lessons than I booked though which is annoying as it's 30 euro a lesson!

Hey thats great progress! I didn't make it to 3rd gear until my 4th

I needed A LOT more lessons than I would. I thought 50-60 would be enough. Ha not even close. I think I've had about 100 if not more before I passed. Cost me a fortune

Well, it was my test today and I failed
absolutely gutted. It went really well, I drove well and I didnt feel nervous at all!!
BUT, I missed a "one way" sign and was asked to turn right and remained in the left hand lane. SO so sooo stupid I missed it
Im so upset over it the waiting list for another test is 8 weeks!!!!

Don't worry, you won't have to wait 8 weeks. Keep checking for cancellations!

So sorry to hear your bad news Sophie, was it your first attempt? When you rebook, keep checking for closer dates, then you might be able to resit in as early as 1 month rather than 2.

I haven't booked that many yet, short term one a week until the end of the summer but it appears that I have no short term memory so I forget everything I learn if I don't repeat it soon after
The only car I could practice in is my mum's which is a huge 7 seater and I can't use it on the country roads around here so I think I'll have to get lessons almost every couple of days
