The Ultimate "Driving Test" Thread!

Lula I am sooooo sorry

I was actually talking to my driving instructor prior to reading this thread and asked him whether you can actually appeal a decision and he said not without a lawyer??!!?? ridiculous.

I am ok - the last time I was so nervous I really thought i would throw up on the examiner (who was lovely by the way). I just really need to pass :-(

Vodka comes before acceptance :-)

would you think about writing a complaint to the DVLA about her?? might not get you anywhere but won't harm your chances??

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

To be honest, I had thought about making a complaint or appealing it, but what is the point? It'd be my word against hers and it's not like it'd change my result.
Plus as you said Abby, I'd need a lawyer, too much hassle. I'll just accept it and move on.

The show me tell me part of the test consists of 2 questions. I'll try and find a list of the questions and post a link to them on here. :) xx

Congratulations hun!! :) How many minors did you get? That's fab news, especially with having another little one on the way, will hopefully make things so much more easier for you. :) xx

My aunt didn't manage to get the money in my account today so I'm feeling a bit deflated. I know I shouldn't, especially as she's helping me out, but I feel deflated. I just want another one booked so I have something to work towards again. I hope I can get it booked soon and start checking for cancellations. :)

I got 12 minors and seriously thought id failed on my left corner reverse as it was up a hill but i passed i was so shockd x yep will def be easyer having a car now lol have u rebooked yours?

My license came through today :happydance:

Have you rebooked your test yet Lula hun? Lets hope 3rd time lucky :hugs:

YAY for 12 minors!! That's great hun. :)

FINALLY!! I bet you're so glad Twilight, I bet you stared at it for ages and was like "Oooooo prettyyyyyyyyyyy"

No, not rebooked yet. My aunt didn't get to the bank today to put money in and she's too scared to do online banking, thinks she's going to get robbed or something. Hopefully she'll put it in tomorrow, as soon as it's in, I'm jumping on the site and booking my test. :D

Hehe I was so happy! But its kinda thin and flimsy and they expect that to be in one piece in 50 years time :dohh:

Hope you get a good date hun, remember cancellations :winkwink:

Aww cool! I'm glad it finally arrived. :D

The first thing I'm doing when I've booked my test is looking for a cancellation, will definitely keep you posted.

The good thing is, my instructor said I'd be ok with doing fortnightly lessons now if I want because I've pretty much got everything OK, so that's going to be helpful, but I'll see what I can do. Weekly lessons are probably better for me just to keep my standard up.

I might book two tests  one for my 3rd attempt and a 4th for 10 days later for backup just incase lol! :D In fact, now I think of it, it's not a bad idea. If I pass, I can always cancel the 4th test, if not, then I have another one to fall back on just 10 days later. Ooo I feel like Einstein now.

I thought of this but I don't think they let you book two tests :( (but I may be wrong!)

You said you got 10 minors didn't you? What were they for? It might be a good idea to work on those in your lessons because I came very close to failing my last test, I only got 2 minors but they were both for observations at junctions so another one and I would of failed. So if yours is similar mistakes eg observations during junctions or manouvers then it might be a good idea to work on that (not trying to be bossy or anything :haha:)

OK, on first test, my faults were as follows:

1 for Vehicle Checks (Section 7)
1 for Control (Section 12, Clutch)
1 for Control (Section 12, Steering)
1 for Use of Mirrors (Section 14, Signalling)
1 for Signals (Section 15, Necessary)
1 for Clearance/Obstructions (Section 16)
5 for Progress (Section 20, Appropriate Speed) Turned into 1 Serious
2 for Progress (Section 20, Undue hesitation)
2 for Junctions (Section 21, Approach Speed)
1 for Positioning (Section 23, Normal Driving) Turned into 1 Serious

16 in total :(

Second test :

1 for Control (Section 12, Footbrake)
1 for Use of Mirrors (Section 14, Signalling)
2 for Use of Mirrors (Section 14, Change Speed)
1 for Use of Speed (Section 18)
2 for Progress (Section 20, Undue Hesitation)
1 for Junctions (Section 21, Turning Right)
2 for Awareness/Planning (Section 26) Turned into 1 serious

10 faults total

So, it's good that I shaved 6 faults off, there's a couple of things that I need to address, but my instructor said we'll go over those on the following lessons. :)

I'll have a go at booking 2 tests, see what happens.

I've got mine early september  I'm so nervous I could be sick, and I have a lesson today and he will decide if i need to push it back or not :nope: Freaking out  x

If I were you, i'd work on the ones that you're getting 2 for, because if that gets bumped to 3 then it changes into a major. I hope you don't think i'm bossy I just want you to pass next time! I'm really rooting for you because I know how awful it is when you keep hearing those dreaded words. :flower:

Noooo not at all hun, I know what you mean and will definitely take on board your advice :) xxx

I checked online whether I could book two tests and I can't! :( Just have to hope that I'll pass next time.

My aunt said she'll put the money in tomorrow for definite, so hopefully will have a test booked by tomorrow evening.

Awesome! I hope you get a good date sweetie, fingers crossed!!!! 3rd time lucky :dust::dust:

HEAR YE, HEAR YE!!!!!

I finally got another test booked. 11th October which is 9 weeks away. I am going to keep checking for any cancellations but then part of me thinks to keep it to this so that I can fit in as much practice as is do-able. It means I can be a bit more flexible, so if I can't do a lesson every week, fortnightly is OK.

I'll see, chances are I'll get to see a good vacancy and then practically wet my knickers over it and nab it before someone else does.

As it stands, it's on 11th October (Tues) at 8:20am. :) Glad I have another test booked at the very least. It's got to be 3rd time lucky right? I sure hope so.
