The Ultimate "Driving Test" Thread!

i dont know there area of my tes centre either. i booked my test the other day eeeek. my driving instructor is going to get another instructor from the school to take me out on a mock test which i thought was a good idea

what do they ask you on the show me tell me thing?

My instructer gave me a sheet full of the questions they ask. you could ask for one with your instructer? xx

I found this Fs, hope it helps. :) xx

Lula I know what you mean, it's obvious at some point we will be driving somewhere we don't know. But for the test it would be nice to have some kind of knowledge of the area!

Midnight, I'm not keen on the reverse around a corner either, I'm ALWAYS wide :growlmad: I hope I get the turn in the road!

That link about the show me tell me questions says if you get one or both wrong it will count as a fault in the test.. my instructor said it didn't count  I kinda know them anyway, but it would of been nice to know they actually count :dohh:

If you want some knowledge of the area, you could try google maps on street view. Takes a while but I found it helped me :)

It's times like this when I wish I could drive. I'm itching for some chocolate and want to go down to Asda but can't be arsed to walk. I wish I could just hop in the car and just goooooooooooooooooooo!!

Had a driving lesson today, turn in the road and parralel park! Cracked them both right away :D I love the parralel park! xx

hi everyone, been doing my lessons, booked my test for august 10th, am so nervous!!, so any advice, or anyone else soon to be taking taking their test?..at the moment my main weak point is getting mirror signal manoevure in the right order! quite a major thing! but im pretty good at 3 point turns and dont mind parrell parking, do not like reverse round a corner or roundabouts though! xx

glad im not the only one, yes it makes my car slimmer too (well my instructors car) i hate when they do it on a really narrow road or on a roundabout, espically buses too, the drivers on them are crazy!

oohhh im nervous i managed to book my theory test for the 28th july :happydance: theres such a long wait at the test center to do the theory that i was lucky to get booked in :)
fingers crossed i pass and can get my practical test booked soon

Fingers crossed, amie leigh.

The only advice I can give regarding driving test jazmine is to do a mock the week before just to get a rough idea of what needs ironing out, on day of test, have a 2 hour lesson beforehand and when doing the test, remember to check mirrors often and to take your time but not to be too slow, if that makes sense. I drove too cautiously on my driving test, so I've to be careful on day of my next test (2nd August) to pick my speed up a bit.

Rescue Remedy Spray is apparently good for helping you to relax, so maybe invest in some some of that, you can get some from Holland & Barratt :) xxx

Other than that....not sure. I would suggest going over roundabouts and manoevres before the test also. :) xx

Hi all. Had a lovely lesson today. Feeling a bit stressed so told my instructor how I felt etc and that I really couldn't be doing with the city but didn't want to cancel, so we drove round the forest, I filled up with some petrol (as said I have a mini fear of petrol stations) drove down through the forest to the sea, done a few reverses and bay parking and then home :)

i am just back from a great lesson i actually feel like that was my best lesson yet it was my first 2hour lesson i got picked up at 8am drove into town through rush hour did a reverse round the corner, turn in the road and a bay park
i was dreading today because of it being rush hour but it was really good

hope everyone else has good lessons this week x
