The we are too shy to talk to people and have ended LONERS group :)

well... the office has closed and its still ours :D

So i will offically say unless our references dont come back good its ours. There is no reason why they shouldnt. we were only referenced two months ago and nothing has changed.

I need you ladies advice if you dont mind. This girl i work with is going through a rough patch with her family at the moment, and has asked me if we can meet up for a chat. I dont mind... but she really pissed me off the other week at my parents. (she is seeing my older brother) Now im going to go because i feel sorry for her because she has no one else she trusts and whatnot... buuuut should i just wipe the slate clean and start again? or should i tell her why i was off with her. I want to get along with her for my brothers sake.

Be the bigger person:thumbup:

I'll just see what she has to say and offer advise. I know some really horrid things have gone on in the last few weeks for her. Hmmm it might do my some good to get out the house on my own.

Just catching up on some soaps, ebaying some stuff... and laughing at people who pay more than the RRP for second hand stuff LOL

 hello newbies :)

how are you all today ladies???

Ive just spent about 2 hours umming and ahhing over my "what to take to hospital" list. I want to be prepared, but some of the stuff seems preposterous... i dont want to turn up with a suitcase & the midwives be like "oh you're prepared!!!!!" in that sarcastic, "where are we gonna put all this junk" way.

I sortof want to take the bare minimum then leave the rest in the car... but i dont want to kick myself afterwards iykwim? It seems people who havent been given a list or dont use a site like this get on fine without HALF the stuff suggested.... help!!!

Who watched the football today? I didnt, but still knew when England had scored...all my neighbours were shouting "ENLAAAAANDDD YESSSS GERRRARRRDDDD GETTT INN MY SONNNN!!!" so i knew he had scored :dohh:

Hope you're all ok :)
And pink - good luck with the flat, fingers crossed this is the one for you :flower: x

Good luck with the flat and meeting with your brothers gf, pink!

Hayley, what I took was...

For baby:
A couple of vests and babygrows (because I was having a c-section and knew I'd be in longer)
Nappies (although my hospital gave us a load and also a load of cotton wool)
Little tub of sudocream (although you get a teeny pot in the bounty pack they give you)
Scratch mits
Hat (for after first bath)
Blankets (although again, my hospital had plenty)

For me:
x3 packs of maternity sanitary towels (didn't need anywhere near that much!)
pack of normal sanitary towels
little tub of toothpaste
Make up and hair stuff (and yeah I did bother :haha:)
Washing stuff
x3 changes of clothes (again, knew I was gonna be in a little longer cuz of section. Also, took 'normal' and mat trousers - my belly was almost completely gone so if I didn't have a section, normal trousers would've been fine!)
Plenty of spare, big knickers (to hold those ghastly pads and because of my wound!)
Dressing gown
Breast pads
CAMERA
Phone
Snacks

And then when my parents come up, my dad left me his portable DVD player because I was so bored when visitors weren't allowed and LO was sleeping! But then again, I didn't subscribe to the TV service so if you do, you'll probs be alright.

Hope that helps :baby:

My hospital dont provide milk either so ya might need that depending on your hospital

i took two pairs of pyjamas and that wasnt enough - 4 pairs i would take if i was doin it again!

Thankyou Faille & emma! :) out of interest Faille, which hosp were you in?

Im trying to find someone who has used Darent Valley in recent times but no luck so far :( Going to see labour ward tomorrow *i think* but dont want to swamp the poor midwife with questions when she's talking

Someone said i should have been given a list :growlmad: i have had no such list... guessing my midwifes forgot me!!! xx

i had no list, i got one off here, theres one in 3rd tri in the stickies, though if i remember rightly it was a bit extreme lol x

Ooh I forgot you're in Dartford - I was at DVH  (and I got a list but tbh, it was just common sense items!) Who's your midwife?

:happydance: someone else at my hospital!!!!!

yeah i tried the list in 3rd tri...and the hundreds of other random threads but... it just seems too much you know?

I'm consultant led, so I have a student MW who will be delivering bubs, and 2 community MWs that i see for apps in dartford... but i see the consultants too at DVH, they are terrifying. I've also got consultants in Heamatology and Anaesthesia that have a stack of notes on me  It'll be like a party if i need to go to theatre... they allll want a piece of me

I'm tempted to pack 1 bag with obvious stuff & 1 bag with less important stuff in...and leave bag 2 in the car. Liam can sneak it in when i'm not embarrassed or screaming or whatever.

 WHY is pregnancy so convoluted!!!!

I took LOADS to hospital with me! And actually think I used most of it but I was in for 5 days.

One thing I didn't know about newborn babies was that they cough up phlegm a lot. So I didn't have enough sleepsuits....I hadn't even bought enough :dohh: because I was team yellow all I bought was a pack of 3 tiny baby and a pack of 3 first size in plain white. Plan was to get mum or FOB to buy pink/blue when we knew. But.....trust me to have a baby on a day when nowhere was open, not even Asda or Tesco :dohh:

I didn't buy enough mat pads either (took 2 packs ) but luckily the hosp had them because again, shops were closed!

thank u ladies.

Wow oliver sleep an extra half an hour so he went 9-7! Thats the longest he has done so far because he settles straight to sleep last night! OH is doing the first feed of the day and then we will all go back to sleep i think.

I stayed at hospital 2 nights because i was induced i took...
3 sleepsuits/vests and it wasnt nearly enough! Made OH bring more up!
2 packs of pads but i wasnt bleeding to heavy so it was fine.
10 nappies/bag of cotton wool balls/pack of wipes/sudocream (the small pot i got with bounty)
I took 1 blanket some hats and mittens.
Snacks and a book.
2 nighties and clothes to go home in.
Oh and shower stuff.

Thats all i can remember and its hurting my fingers using this small keyboard on my phone lol!
