The we are too shy to talk to people and have ended LONERS group :)

hello everyone :)
i havent been able to come on as my internet has been down :( but now am BACK and there is no getting rid of me xxx

Hey girls

Im super loner tonight. Even OH wont talk to me.
Im in a mood and was crying in the car...i wouldn't answer him when he asked what was wrong, so he went into a mood too, now he's crashing around the kitchen.

I dont know why but i get all self concious when i cry so i cant speak at all. I will have to wait until its dark to talk to him or i get flustered. :dohh:

Hope you've all had a better day than me! And will have to do the teddy bear pic during the week, ran out of time today as had to go out.

Have a nice night ladies, i'm having an early sleeps today so im not exhausted in the morning xxxx

afternoon everyone
i've just been on a tour of the hospital and the delivery suites, wards and stuff... it was really nice! Typical me, my mind went completely blank when she asked if we had any questions, luckily liam remembered to ask what we need to bring! Basically she said everything... as they give you nothing but 2 little nappies. :dohh: so i have to take 2 bags afterall :haha:

Hope your all having a nice relaxed sunday... im gonna try and sort out bubs' clothes this afternoon :)

Say hello to your babies from me  x

DW about forgetting anything as they're lying! (or at least that's what they told us last year but they gave us stuff anyway lol).
We got a big supply of cotton wool and napies, a blanket with the cot and any milk you can think of (if you can't/don't want to bf). They just obviously tell you to bring everything because some people will take the pee.... As far as washing and hygene things for you - you are on your own, though! (although they have mat pads - they didn't even use mine after my section, only time I started using them is when I was up and walking about).

I was consultant led too, I had Ms Schiener (sp?!) - she was scary at first but actually quite nice in the end lol.

Hope everyone had a good weekend?
Glad to hear the meet went will, Pink. You might find someone you can relate to there x

Faille - she said that they are "imminently" removing the milk they give you - as the gov't is asking them to promote breast feeding they wont be allowed to supply formula unles obv its an emergency. SHe said they give 2 nappies & a load of blankets, but to bring our own for when we leave (in case of laundry mix ups mainly) same with towels - theirs are all teeny, she said to bring my own one for my bath and flannels (for face and for body) in case id need a bed bath.

It was all very detailed. Definately preferred the delivery suite though, rather than the midwife led unit. I liked the drugs cabinet in the delivery suite  midwife led was very pro-natural birth, and water births etc... no epidurals in site. As im consultant-led, im glad ill be in the other bit!! and i get my own en-suite guaranteed :smug: whereas midwife led had 2 rooms with & 2 rooms without...

Wonderful hospital though. She made me laugh, she told us the reason maternity is the furthest away from the exit (to stop baby theft) and she said "we often set the alarms off by accident which sends security into a frenzy" poor old guys having to shut all the exits...

my cons. is meant to be dr jones... but ive seen 6 different ones so far  and dr jones tried telling my due date was different..he was using a 2009 pinwheel  instead of 2010. eejit!
:)

The delivery suite is ace - all the mw's are lovely and really reassuring.

Unfortunately, my experience of the cedar ward wasn't as good - they are just way too busy. I'm not sure if they offer formula or not but they definitely didn't have the time to support my bf'ing efforts (unless you count manhandling your boobs and getting LO to latch and not bothering to listen to the actual problem as support!) :nope:

My experience of the MW led unit though was completely different. I don't think it's a case of them being pro "natural" births - it's just that an epi needs and anaesthetist to administer. They are very pro bf'ing though but they have the time to sit with you and have consultants. They are very open minded and supportive, whatever you decide to do though.

Anyway, that was my experience!! It could be completely different for you though. Guess it's luck of the draw of who you get on the day and how many other women are there!!

Yeah, they explained it as the MW led unit was for more "home birth" keen people who wanted the medical safety of a hosp iykwim? Kindof basic with just g&a or pethidine, water births were done there etc. A much more relaxed 1 on 1 environment.

I'm not worried about them being busy in cedar as I am on the student caseload so at the very least I'll have my lovely lady with me :) an cos of all the faffing around with consultants, I've got all sorts of bloods to be done before they even think of giving me an epi, so defo the place for me regardless  trust me to prefer the havoc and chaos over the calming water birth :haha:

Georgie, you're quiet are you OK? :hugs:

Hayley you are actually making me want to give birth again!!!

Morning Ladies!! I have the 2 biggest olsers(sp?) in my mouth!! OUUUUUUCH.
