Thought it would be a good idea for us brides to be to post the latest on their wedding planning and what they've been up to, just so we can all be nosy

This weekend i went and got my Bridal Veil, i found it tricky getting the right one because i wanted one with a few Diamanté's on it but didn't want it to look too bling but it seems to be all or nothing! But i finally found a lovely 54" one in a tiny bride shop, so i've now gotten all my accessories except the jewellery

Also went to church for the 2nd time to have our Banns read out, it seems so weird when they say your names out in church made me feel a bit emotional

So whats the latest things you ladies have been up to??

I went dress shopping this weekend and confirmed to myself that the dress I tried on last week really, truly is 'The One' Cant wait to go back and see it again at the end of the month! xxx

We have ordered our invitations and are now just trying to sort the wording for the save the date cards which is proving more difficult than we thought!!

Also decided on the Choccy Woccy Doo Dah cake, saves on hassle as much as anything and in honesty, after the meal the guests are having the cake is going to pale into insignificance anyway so may as well go for the easiest option!!

Well 6mths to go and I am sooooo unorganised but this month we have:
Got My Dress!!
Ordered invites
Got the bridesmade dresses
Got the centre pieces
Paid 3k of the bill

So bad I guess!!!

Well, with 10 weeks to go...my florist has let me down and so Im on the hunt for a new one and also someone to do chair covers and table displays as she was doing all of these!!!! x

Kstan sorry to hear about your florist that really sucks!!! I bet you we're really annoyed at her, i would be! Hope you find someone suitable soon

We have a meeting with the church on Wednesday to sort out some final arrangements and i have no idea about music we want or anything

I've not done much since the last catch up thread!

But I have started to put my very simple and very homemade looking invites together. They're crap but I can just say Josh made them haha! And I've secured baking time for my cake maker. I think thats about it!

Oh and I got my Sweet Station sorted - obviously the most important part after the dress and cake! Everybody will be leaving my reception about a st heavier!

^^^ oooh i really wanted a sweet station but decided against it in the end, we got a choc fountain instead!
I got my invites of ebay, there hand made but luckily not by me haha

Sweet station sounds fab!! I found another florist today - check out my top table flowers!! So excited now!!!

Next on my list is to find some brides maid shoes, dont know where from though, i dont want to spend allot really.

Our latest news on the wedding is we've just finished having our bann's read out in our local parish church we got a little certificate and everything, which makes it seem much more real now!

Went to a wedding fair last sunday and paid our venue deposit, also ordered and put down a deposit for our chair covers and sashes and bought a gorgeous tiara! Finished making our invitations last night and they look great if I may say so myself. Started playing around making menu cards too and still waiting for my dress to arrive.

I've got pretty much everything sorted! Which is just as well seeing as I'm getting married a week on Wednesday, so in 11 days (my ticker's a day out for some reason!).
I had my hair and make-up trial yesterday, which was amazing! I'm going for my final dress fitting on Friday. Paid registrar Thursday just gone- price goes up for weddings from the day I get married, which is very annoying, although I think they adjust the prices every tax year. A bit of a warning too for girls who are getting married after 6th April next year too- you might have to pay more than is currently stated for a registrar! Order of service is sorted, although we've decided against having handouts for guests. Our 2 readings are picked, as are the people reading them. They are 'A History of Love' by Diane Ackerman and 'Blessing for a Marriage' by James Dillet Freeman. The registrar had never heard them before and they had her fighting off tears she liked them so much! Paid for our reception venue. Going to see our day venue on Monday and give them guest list and menu choices and let them know when they're getting paid by my parents! They're making up a framed table plan for us so we don't need to worry about that! Flowers are growing nicely. Headdress made and beautiful. Still awaiting arrival of cloak that was ordered in JANUARY! A little annoyed also that the National Rail strikes from the 6th April may mean that some of our guests can't make it as they were due to come up on the 6th! Attendents' gifts are sorted, just need one to arrive in the post and for a chain to come into a local shop for my flowergirl. Videography sorted, friend who's doing it for us (she's a Film and TV student) has camera sorted. Photography sorted- photographer, whose another close friend, will be here in a week's time. Cake sorted and cake stand ordered. Evening buffet sorted. There are other little things but they're all done too!

It's been an amazingly stress free process!! I'm just letting myself get incredibly excited now as it's definitely going to happen and in less than a fortnight I WILL be Mrs Davies!!
