Things to put in an advent calender ??

i have a calender for logan and last year we filled it with little finger puppets as i dont really like the idea of him having chocolate every day but im stuck as to what to fill it with this year !

Any ideas greatly recieved

What about buying a little animal set (from the supermarket etc) and putting a different animal each day ? Or a jigsaw puzzle so everyday is a new piece for the puzzle ? Or maybe a decoration to put on the tree ? (Prob not as fun for him though )

How big is the advent calendar?

We have a beautiful wooden reindeer but the drawers are very small, maybe an inch long but certainly not an inch wide. I'm struggling to think of things to fit in it for Joseph but I like the little animal idea.

I've been considering a lucky dip bag instead, letting him pick one thing a day out of a bag or a box in place of the advent calendar, that way it would be easier to find little things for him in place of chocolate.
