I have just looked on internet about itching during pregnancy cos its driving me mad. Ans I came across PUPPP which I had never heared of before and i have ALL the symptoms.
Obviously I am going to go to the doctors on monday but its only saturday night right now so does anyone know of ANYTHING that may help soothe it in the mean time?
Its so itchy and sore its driving me mad I cant sleep :( Im like a dog with fleas :growlmad: lol x
Thanks

ok first of all if you have a rash then puppps on the cards
basically its just a hormone rash that is indeed unbearable but its ok! steroid creams help apparently.

no rash, blood test and liver function to check the bile in your blood.. at the top of the fourum read Obstetric Cholestasis.this is potenialy dangerous if you have a high level of bile in your blood. i have it and it is a killer where the itch is concerned.
common symtoms usually are : itchy(even on feet and palms, tiredness, mild depression)
i use aveeno bath, eurax cream and lavender oil b4 bed.

and then theres just basic preg itch which is a thing you just have to live with. i do hope your ok xxxx

Hi, i can sympathise sooo much with you. I had PUPP really badly with my first pregnancy and very mildly in this pregnancy. First time around i was like you, i didn't know anything about it and unfortunately neither did the doctors or the midwives!!! I had to wait 6 weeks to see the consultant by which time i was bleeding and scabbed from my chin to my feet. The only places not affected was my face and the soles of my hands and feet. I had to change my clothes several times a day as they got covered in blood from my damaged skin.

So here are my tips: Tepid baths and showers frequently through the day, cut all your nails off, use Grandpa's pine tar soap (order from internet, cost me £14 for 4 bars this time), use aloe vera after sun and keep it in the fridge, take flaxeed oil capsules and dandelion root capsules (both from holland and barrett) both 2 capsules a day. Steroid creams didn't work at all for me but my consultant thinks it's because the rash was too far established. Also i took piriton to help me sleep but my baby didn't tolerate it well at all so that wasn't good either. Also wear only cotton clothing, loose and cool.

There are lots of forums and info on-line to help so good luck!

P.S. My GP was pretty pants last time so this time i went to see the consultant privately within a week and this really helped to catch things early.
