More than certain I've developed SPD, do i need to see someone or do we just cope with teh pain.

I didn't get it with my last pregnancy so I've no idea if it's treated or how or what i'm supposed to do.

I don't have an appointment for 2 weeks as I've just moved areas and so i missed my 34 weeks and midwives "apparently" didnt have a free appoinment for 2 weeks (how crap is that??)

Bit worried too as I'm due 2 more blood tests as standard with my last schedule but in this new area apparently the final one is 28 weeks. Guess I'll be demanding the extra ones(obv ned them for something) and I know they will be bitchy about it.

hiya i moved house at 36weeks and they told me the same that they did not have any appointments, i was struggling with siatica and also they had to keep an eye on my growth, i rang the docs and said if a midwife cant see me il see a doctor and they quickly find an appointment for you x

Yeah I might try see a doctor instead.

This new area is a bit weird, no midwives at surgeries-they've moved them all into community centres which by teh way is now miles away and with no car I'd have to get 4 buses with my 3 yr old in tow along with the SPD pain and being so huge anyway!

NHS is poo sometimes!! It's a shame that i already know they will have issues giving me bloods outside of their schedule but I obv need them else my previous area wouldnt do them as standard.

The woman i spoke to was an arse (are all medical receptionists miserable or what). I even explianed that my last pregnancy was complicated and it was suggested I go under consultancy towards the end of my pregnancy but still no appoinment, worries me not being seen for 4 weeks at this stage, especially as i had emergency blood tests for OC and trace of protein last time i saw midwife. This woman didnt seem to think it was important.

I had spd towards the end of my last pregnancy and I've had it (to varying degrees) since 20 weeks this time. There is nothing they can do about it as it is hormonal and means your pelvic muscles, which are naturally softened in pregnancy, have been softened too much (which you'll probably know).

My MW has offered physio, but I think I can manage without. I find I have to sleep on my back as having my legs together on my side is very painful. I also can't walk very far or sit in hard chair etc. People do get it in varying degrees so your condition may be much worse than mine (a cousin was on crutches and had to wear a support belt for e.g.), but aside from physio which may help you may just have to put up with it.

Only 8 weeks left for me!
