How many weeks ahead did you measure? What were your baby's weights? Just wondering if measuring weeks ahead will mean a big baby?

I measured 4 weeks ahead. Gave birth 10 days early and she was 7lb 4oz(would of been 9lb ish term)
but first born was always way behind, i think like 6 weeks behind I measured and she was 6lb 15oz at termso wasn't exactly the tiny baby everyone was expecting!
So not always a reliable method:flower:

I don't think the measuring is a reliable method to judge the size of a baby. I always measured spot on for how many weeks I was and ended up going 2 weeks over with a 9lb4oz baby. I was estimated to have a 7-8lb baby by the midwife

With my first I measured 2-3 weeks ahead. He was 9lb 3oz, both at 42 weeks.

I measured 2-3 weeks ahead the whole way through and was predicted a 9lb baby at term based on my chart. She arrived at 40+2 at 8lb 10 so a bit under

The measurement seems more to check the baby is growing and to identify growth issues or small babies

Just to show the flip side, I measured a week behind (only a little bit behind, I know) the whole way through and ds2 was an impressive 10lb15oz, just goes to show that it's not an exact science!

I measured 3-4 weeks ahead. DS was born three days late weighing 8lbs 12oz

I measured 1 week ahead, baby was 11 days late and 10lb exactly.

I measured 3 weeks ahead with no.3 but I had extra fluid that had only been picked up at an extra scan at 32wks to check my placenta.
She was born at 41+5 and weighed 8lb 12.5oz

I measured 3 weeks ahead my whole first pregnancy, DS was born at 39+6 weighing 8lb 6oz.

I measured spot on throughout my second pregnancy and my DS2 was born at 40+2 weighing 7lb 3.5oz

DD always measured a few weeks ahead and was born between 10 days - 2 weeks early (depending on my own calculations vs docs) and she was 8lbs 1oz

I consistently measured ahead, by up to 9cm at some points. I had growth scans that showed nothing untoward- it was just the way I was carrying.

My baby was born at 37+3, weighing 6lb 10oz, so I definitely don't think fundal height measurements are all that reliable.

My fundal height was always either spot on or 2 weeks behind, but on growth scans DD measured a week or two ahead. She was born at 40+1 weighing 10lb 2oz.

Thanks for the replies ladies. Im measuring 2 weeks ahead this time but cant remember if I did with my dd.She was born 40+3 @ 6lb 11oz.

My fundal height was always a couple weeks ahead, and my scans were a couple weeks behind. Baby was 6lbs, 15oz at 41 weeks.

My fundal height wad a few weeks ahead with Sophie during thr 3rd trimester. At scans she was measurng a few weeks ahead. She was 7lbs 15.5oz at 39+2.

I measured behind but at a late scan I was told that she was actually measuring ahead by 2-3 weeks. She was born at 39+1 at 7lb 1oz and she's still dinky now.

I was measuring 3 weeks ahead and at 38 weeks an estimated weight of 4kg . I was induced 5 days early and she was 3.84 kg

So it was a bit off. She was far bigger than my previous daughter though . My first was 8lbs on the dot and she was as 9 days over and my newborn was 8lbs 8oz 5 days early so Im glad I was induced as I tore pretty bad with my first

I measured 6 weeks ahead when my son was born at 41 weeks and he was 9 lb 15 oz x

I was consistently measuring 3-4 weeks behind and had growth scans with my singleton. She was born at 37+2 weighing a healthy 6lb13 (I think she was 75th percentile)
