How have you found your toddlers towards you? I have DS who is 22months, normally he is quite independant and wants to play on his own etc but he has got really clingy and protective. The last couple of months his sleeping has been great (before then he had only ever slept through a handfull of times) but thats going down hill rapidly as he just wants to cuddle me and rub my belly at bedtime :cloud9: it is really sweet that he is being so protective of both me and baby but I honestly can't get anything done and my house is starting to look a tip

My LO is almost 2, and she has been pretty much the same, except suddenly she wants to be spoon fed. She was BLW and has NEVER been spoon fed, so it is very strange. It hadn't occured to me it might have anything to do with my pregnancy, she doesn't seem to understand exactly whats going on there, even though we talk to her about a baby brother being in mummy's tummy, and mentioning that baby is coming soon, I wonder how much of that actually sinks in?

No real advice, just wanted to say you're not alone! I guess all kids react differently, even if they don't get it perhaps they sense a change? Fingers crossed it will all work out.

We were dioing really well with the potty training a month ago (DD is just 2) and then she just suddenly refused to tell us when she was going at all! Tantrums have increased and the clingyness, but it might just be the age rather than the baby as I don't think she understands 100% that the baby is coming out soon!

My sister and I have spoke about this quite a bit (she works in childcare) and she has said they do find the children who are recently potty trained and have a little bro/sis not long after do tend to resort back to nappies. One of the reasons I haven't attempted to potty train DS yet is because of baby coming.

I think they do know, sort of like a sixth sense. We have read pregnancy books to Edward and shown him pictures of babies as they develop, also spoke to him alot about his little sister and he even calles her by her name :cloud9:

Yeah that's why we are not pushing it anymore! Will start againg in the winter/spring!

My DD talks about the baby and points to my tummy when people ask where the baby is and has felt him move. She's seen her best friend's mum go from 'pregnant belly' to 'actual baby sister' and says that little babies are 'baby sissers' which is very sweet, but my mum said that I was all excited and prepared like that and they thought I got it and that I loved meeting my lil sis at the hospital, but when they bought her home to stay, all I kepts saying was 'take it back' and ' I don't want it'. I was 21 months and hadn't understood that it would be a forever thing!
