So, my cycles kept getting longer and longer. Since February, they were a 32-34 day cycle. Between the cycle of June and July they went to a 40 day cycle and this past time between July and SEPTEMBER, it was a 50 day cycle. I went to the doctor and got bloodlwork done to check the hormone levels and my thyroid levels since I had it taken out last year, and everything is normal range...so now I got to go to a Ob-GYN. Boooo. I got to call my doctor tomorrow because they said they would refer them to me or whatever.

Doctor thought that maybe I wasn't ovulating...and we had been trying to get pregnant...now I see it was just a big waste of time.

Any idea what they will do at the ob gyn as I like to have a heads up of what might happen?

I'm not going to be much help but I'm in a similar position to you.
After having the contraceptive implant out 3 years ago, I went from having months of no periods, to a regular 28 day cycle and it’s now gradually getting longer, I’m on day 57 and no sign of af.

I'm not TTC yet but my doctor has done blood tests and ultrasounds and found nothing  I've now been referred but haven’t heard anything yet.

I would also be interested to know what may happen next.
Sorry I’m not much help but good luck x

Hey there. Sorry you're body is out of whack. I know it's no fun. I go to the doctor on Friday morning. I will give an update on here and let you know what they say and hopefully you will hear something soon!

I don't have any suggestions and I don't know what you can expect when you go for your appointment, but just want to remind you that a lot of people have long cycles and still get pregnant very easily. This doesn't mean it's going to be a long TTC journey for you :hugs:

Well I wen to the doctor and I wanted to smack the guy. He just said that when I got ready to try that he would start me

Doctor said he would start me on Clomid when ready. Didn't bother to check into anything just said that the reason my cycle suddenly got so long was because I was a little overweight. How come some people are overweight and have perfectly normal periods?

My mom also had cysts on her ovaries, he didn't mention anything about that. I just kinda felt like he blew me off.

My nerves were really getting to me, I was so angry and nervous and scared and I sat there and cried. He didn't bother to offer a tissue or anything. He was kind of rude.

Get a second opinion if you're still worried. Good luck and sorry you had to go through this.
