Thoughts on Calvin?

Hi all! So my DH and I aren't TTC until next year. We have a girls name picked (Claire Therese) but can't agree on any boys names! Originally we were thinking William. But my DH said he would call him Will, which I'm not a fan of so it is out.

I really like Calvin but DH isn't sold. What do you all think of it? Or do you have any suggestions for first names for a boy that go with our sons name Charles? (it's a coincidence that all the names start with a C...definitely not looking to do a C theme or anything )

I'm not a fan of alliteration so all H names are out as our surname is an H.

I like Calvin but prefer it spelt Kelvin (reminds me less of the underwear brand!) - it's unusual but not oddly so. I only know one person called it (spelt with a K) and he is 30.

I like Caleb for a C name too!

I also think of Calvin Klein and Calvin Harris the DJ...

I love Calvin! I wanted to name our first son Calvin but OH thought it was too mainstream (*eyeroll*). You can call him Cal or Vinny for short, and I just think it's a great name that ages well with the child.

It's ok - kind of dated though (Calvin Hobbes/Calvin Klein)

How about Charles & Christian?

I think Calvin is cute. I don't think of Calvin Klein immediately.

I actually love Calvin! I haven't really considered it though this time as I don't think it goes too well with my kids last name. He'd probably get Cal for short, if you're okay with that.

I like it. And I love Cal. If I stretch, I can associate it with Calvin & Hobbes or Cal Ripken. It's not popular in my social circles and I know no one personally with the name, which makes it unique and cute to me (without being weird).
