Thread killer........

Ouch - you're lucky to have made it this far without being bitten aren't you Lil??? Fran doesn't hold her own bottle during feeds but once she'd finished this morning she took it off me and started chewing on the teat - made me glad I don't bf :haha:

My friend is trying, without success, to turn me to formula so I can get more sleep really? I'm trying to tell her politely I prefer my boobies but she keeps pushing it. It's not for me, why can she not understand this?

Pah ignore your friend - Fran has been exclusively ff since birth and only dropped her night feed at 6 months and still doesn't sttn even though she has 3 meals plus supper plus snacks!!!!

I don't understand the obsession with babies sleeping through - if you don't want to do night wakings then don't have a baby!

You are doing just great love xx

Thanks :) I guess I just have to stop fretting about other peoples opinions. I'm doing what I think is best for my situation but I'm by no means perfect. I think it is awesome you ff'd with Fran, but how the heck did you afford it?

We get £80 per month in child benefit from the government and I use it to buy her formula, nappies etc. And as she's dropped bottles since starting weaning it buys some of her clothes and toys now too.

I just withdraw it when it's been paid into our account and keep it in a seperate purse so I know it's spent on Fran rather than getting mixed in with our general money xx

Wow is that all you get? I get $400 parenting payment here! Formula is normally about $20-$30 dollars, a 36 packet of nappies is about $13-$18 a 56 bag is about $23-$32. It's crazy. I cannot wait for her to be old enough to fit her cloth nappies!

A 900g tin of formula was about £7 when Fran was born and we bought 4 or 5 per month. It's currently £8.99 and we get 2. I use supermarket own brand nappies and buy 2 packs of 42 for £10 - so there's a fair bit left over to get her any other bits she might need like odd bits of clothing etc xx

Our local supermarket doesn't have their own brand of nappies sadly, otherwise I would be using them! Those prices are pretty good, cheaper then here (I did a conversion). It's just crazy how many nappies they go through at this age!

Oh and you should follow my parenting journal

Oooh will take a look hun!

Hi my lovely ladies - how's things?

16 sleeps until the big man arrives lol!

Fran slept right through until 6.45am this morning :happydance: She did stir around 4am so I went to check on her but she was actually still fast off so I popped her dummy in and popped to the loo while I was up lol!

I wonder what she has instore for us tonight though...........:haha:

:hi: aww yay that's great! :D

I am getting so annoyed with supermarkets, no lie but every single thing I ever like stops being sold. Other people have started to notice now that is I like a certain food or drink they stop selling it.
I went shopping with my mum today and after we noticed they weren't selling any milkshake anymore she asked if I wanted a pizza and guess what they don't do the one I like anymore so she then suggest a flapjack and you guessed it they had every single one but they one I like. This happens every time I go shopping and it's only stuff I like, no one elses favourites  and it's any shop.

I know this probably seems like a bit of an overreaction but :hissy: it is soo annoying!!!

I'm sure I have someone following me around the store and then removing it all  So far it's only shops own brands but I think soon I'll be bringing down the big companies

Wish they would stop doing all my favourite foods then maybe I'd lose some weight
