Anyone else suffering from thrush? I had it on and off at the start of my pregnancy but have had it constantly for almost a fortnight now. I've had cream from the doc but keep forgettin to put it on :dohh:

Have quite frequent yellowy discharge and it sometimes comes in floods (euch sorry TMI!!)

Anyone else having this problem? I hope I'm not the only one...! :nope:

Thrush has been an absolute nightmare for me. I've had it 5 times in 6 months and some of it lasting a fortnight like you!. The cream really didn't do anything, but the doctor gave me a canesten pessary to put in at night, it takes a coupe of days to work completely, but it's brilliant, i have them on standby for prescriptions now so that i can ring up for an emergency one!!!

Just one little hint - if you do get one, make sure you keep you underwear on in bed - sounds grims, but what goes up must come down!!!!!

Good luck x

i've had too. got a prescription yesterday and used the pessary last night, very chalky coming out (yuk tmi!) but if you use a pantyliner you're fine. discharge seems to have reduced significantly already and the itching has gone.
i've got the cream to apply 2-3 times a day.

just a point though, when i went to the pharmacy she was looking to see if it was cheaper to get not on prescription, but the canestan cream the nurse put down was different to the one behind the counter and was only available on prescription, so maybe ask your doc for a higher strength one or something to see if it works.

I've been getting them on and off too...but I was told to just use the over the counter creams and such...

ive also had it on and off for 2/3 weeks ive had 3 tubes of cream off the doctor and just seems to be getting better not due to the cream tho! due to coaltar soap!!! i just drop it in my bath and bath as normal its natural soap so isnt harsh or harm your baby but acually works!! :D x x x

not sure, non of my midwifes have picked anything up from my samples, but maybe they can do more tests at the hosp. i'm sure they can pick it up if they are looking for infection anyway.
my main symptoms were increased discharge-kind of yellow and itchy! pantyliners helped n the meantime, they kept the discharge away from my bits!

I have stupidly been holding my wees in so maybe i do have some sort of water infection coming.. knowing my luck ill have thrush and water infection..lol... my last test came back ok so who knows...xxx

Is thrush the same as yeast infection?
I had it once before, and now last night I felt it coming back again. My BF tried to have sex with me this morning and it aggrivated it so we had to stop :(
I was so unbearable itchy the first thing I done after getting outta bed was to run some hot water in the bathtub add some seasalt and bath that area very well.I sat there relieved for 10 mins or so flushing it out with the salt water. How lovely and soothing it was! My lips down there swelled up madely :O Quite scarily infact, my BF was like, ""OMG what happened?"" So embarassing! Felt like I had balls! Anyway I tried to rub some garlic but it stung way too bad, I persivered and tried to rub the garlic into the area. Ouch! But it did help because a few hours later the swelling was down. i felt a bit of itch coming on again and went for another bathe in the hot salty water, amazing! Now its down completely and no itching :)

So anyone thats suffering sit down in some hot salty water, it really helps. Garlic helps too but it strings like hell!!

Oh yeah and let the whole area breathe! If your in the house leave that area bare! and try to avoid anythung rubbing at all!
