Timing my cervical smear with TTC

Well I guess this is the best place to ask

I was due my cervical smear in Sept and my fertility specialist said 'you must do it straight away'... no problem I've had plenty done before.

But it said it's best to do it CD 10-14 - I have a cycle of about 27 days and like lots of people we from about a week before Ov to a week after ie CD 7-21 (aim for every 2-3 days and every 1-2 days close to Ov day).

How long do I need to leave betwen and my smear? I would guess 48hrs otherwise there must be some inside me TMI - it's quite hard to fit in isn't it, esp if it should be around the 10-14 days which is around my fertile period.

Any suggestions...do I just get it done very early or late in my cycle. Or skip some at the most important time Maybe CD10 which should hopefully be quite a way before Ov, but I reckon that'll be Xmas day

I have had them done during all different CDs and it shouldn't be an issue bc the doc isn't going into your uterus; just a cervical scrape.

48 hours is the sex rule, lol.

Thanks - the letter said ideally CD 10-14 but I'm sure I've just had them done at any time before!
And the 48hrs sounds about right - any less and it would seem a bit gross
Not many spare days with a short cycle and TTC so I don't want to waste any

Good idea - AF finishes CD5 so a few days later would be fine (just to make sure it's all gone!) and still far enough away from serious time
