Hi, I am just wondering if those of you who got a BFP can share some tips on what you did different the month you got a BFP from other months to help you conceive?

when i conceived this july (M/C in sept) what we did different was take a complete week break from bding from the day i started my cycle until cd12...that much of a break is really rare for us- and i guess it worked wonders- now i have my fingers crossed for this time around

when i fell preg with my daughter i did alot of bd'ing during the day, due to us working evenings at the time. dont no if that made any differnece, this time round i have my daughter so wont get a chance during the day

i wasn't even tryin was'nt temping or nothing just having fun! x

We bd on Tursday, friday, saturday and SUnday and I ovulated on Saturday-Sunday.
First month we tried opk

Thank you all!! Any other tips would be greatly appreciated. I am going on my 4 month trying to conceive, and I will be trying pre-seed for the first time this month. Hoping to get my BFP in January!

i did acupuncture with chinese herbs for the month of july. i also cut way down on alcohol and caffeine (switched to 1/3 caf, 2/3 decaf). i was also told by my acupuncturist to eat "warming" foods, and to stay away from icy-cold drinks (which i followed both suggestions).

lastly, we used pre-seed and i bought a clear-blue fertility monitor. after just one cycle of the cbfm and pre-seed, we got the bfp, oct. 17th. also, bd'ing every other day around the "highs and peak" days.

good luck to you and all!!!!
feel free to contact me if you want more details:hugs:

btw, i'm 36 and this is my first.

What's warming food?

warming foods: ginger; ginger tea; beans; grains; and vegetables such as mustard greens, winter squash, cabbage and kale. Avoid ice cold drinks, ice cream and foods that are very cold. In general, it is a good idea to avoid ice water and ice cream during pregnancy attempts.

Warming spices like onions, garlic, ginger, cayenne pepper, black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, fennel, basil, dill, cumin and rosemary should be added to food

eating cooked food, not raw.

Try exercises that promote circulation of Qi and Blood, such as Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Yoga, and Meditation. Not only can they relieve stress, but they can help infertility by harmonizing the body.

i hope this helps :hugs:

my sister who is a mid-wife highly recommended the every-other-day method, also a close friend who just had a baby. we got our bfp when we did the eod method. we also used the cbfm, so that really, really helped. good luck! sending tons of :dust:

Did you work it out so that BD fell on the day you ovulated or just didn't worry about the timing of the eod?

I havent officially started yet as I am mid cycle (and hopefully WONT HAVE TO) but I have been reading "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and Charting seems like the way to go before going out and buying OPK's and other money spending methods.. If you chart, you will see when (or IF) you are ovulating/fertile and can time BD accordingly. And your chart can also tell you in anything may be wrong in your cycle.

Ive been taking my temps starting yesterday just to get a feel for the routine but I am on CD 17 now of about 34. Its still kind of fun though!

I stopped thinking about it. I don't do temps or charting. Got lucky in my second month!

I went on a holiday to the States! As annoying as it is, I honestly could only conceive after I forgot about conceiving and just had fun. I'd completely recommend the NTNP route.

My only suggestion for a healthy couple is just to relax and enjoy it. Nothing is worse than ruining your intimacy when TTC, especially as men hate to feel like they have to "perform". We didn't have problems conceiving (3 months it took) but I see a lot of girls under 6 months of trying getting upset and obsessing over it. While long term TTC can be quite difficult (and I can't speak for that), the average couple should just relax and let it happen. Enjoy it. I don't even know what CD, OPK, or even my "ovulation" times, any of those terms, I didn't want that to interfere with just letting it happen naturally. Yes, some girls are just insanely fertile and get pregnant on a one-nighter or on the pill, but that doesn't mean there is anything abnormal about taking up to a year to conceive.

Wow, great thread :happydance:. Excellent tips

Congratulations on those with :baby: on sharing.

Most importantly relax..don't stress out..And do lotssss of Doggy style ^_~ best position for the little guys to get there faster..and have lots of sex right before ovulation..during ovulation..and the day after
