Hi Emmi thank you for sharing this link with me its great that you are throwing yourself into these methods and one day all your hard work will pay off. Big hugs x

Thanks to all you ladies for the info i will do some reading and get onto it.

Briefly - i've just had my first failed Ivf - devastated! I want to take a bit of time off TTC but do want to take some natural remedies before we start again there are some great tips on here. Does anyone know of good remedies for men and their sperm count? I will do what i can to improve my eggs but me and the OH are not a good combination so i need him to improve his quality too.

X

Nice to have you here Pinkie and totally know how you feel:hugs:

My hubby's sperm improved 40% with this supplement so you could give it a try?? Motility and count improved big time. My clinic recommended it and it really has worked so maybe worth a try. It doesn't have the necessary garlic in it so I just include garlic in all my cooking.

I was on two courses of Accutane about 16 yrs ago. I had no idea it was pulled from the market or that infertility might an outcome of using it. I don't remember the duration but Google says 16-20wks is a normal course so I could have been on it for 32-40 wks or 8-10 mos. :nope: I stopped spironolactone and doxycyclene (sp?) about 4 yrs ago. Thanks for sharing this info, 2have4kids.

Very interesting information on selenium. I found the exact article quoted in the NHS site last night. 100% of women (sample size was small though) became pregnant after selenium and magnesium supplementation.

I went out and bought some selenium today at Walmart for $3 but it has wheat so I'm trying to figure out what to do--not sure if the benefits outweigh the risks.

Emmi, thanks for sharing the info about Brazil nuts.

This prompted me to look for more foods w. selenium. Tuna and salmon are high on the list. I'm afraid of eating tuna more than every other month so I just had a generous portion and I'll be eating some salmon if I can choke it down tomorrow.

It's quite a minefield knowing what supplements to take that are the most beneficial and that aren't going to break the bank balance.....I read somewhere the other day that as long as you have your folic tablets and fish oil tablets then you are covered!
Now that I am building up a little pill corner for me, I have to curtail the spending as it can get a bit crazy!!!!!

Luckily - I do love salmon but that's not the cheapest thing to buy either:dohh:

Some superfoods that I have just been reading about that you all might like to know about that assist in fertility, sometimes helps when I read something simple that gets straight to the point!!!!

Bananas - vitamin B6
Asparagus - Folic Acid
Shellfish - B12
Eggs - Vitamin D
Almonds - Vitamin E
Citrus fruits - Vitamin C
Tofu - Iron
Salmon - selenium
Peas - zinc (I totally love mushy peas so lovin that it must be helping me!!)
Mackeral - fatty acids

Kale is really great too. I made a 'Hale to the Kale' Planet Organic salad for ThanksGiving dinner yesterday and no one could believe how good kale is in a salad. I always thought the texture would be too tough but it's crunchy and doesn't go too mushy.

Oooooo thanks for that - the Kale salad looks super delish so will give it a whirl!!!

Hi girls,

First I want to introduce myself. My name is Desi but everybody calls me Daisy. I have just found that I have low AMH hormones. All test I have done by now appear to be good which tells me that most probably my body produces bad eggs :(.
We started NTNP when I was 23 my hubby was 26 (that was 6 years ago). I am one of these people who think that healthy life is very important. I have to say that for years and years I was doing a lot of sport and I was eating healthy. Under "eating healthy" I mean a lot of fruit, meat, vegetables, nuts, different types of tea and etc. NO bread NO sweets, NO ready meals. I had, of course, moments when I treated myself (weekends, holidays). I was a little bit underweight but very healthy with muscles :). But all of these never helped me to conceive. All I think I had were two chemical pregnancies at 2011.
Now I can't follow so well my healthy diet because of my job. But in June I had another chemical pregnancy.
All of this shows me that the food we eat is rubbish. It doesn't matter if it is written on it BIO. All of it is GMO.
I will continue trying to have healthy life but I don't think this will improve my eggs quality.

GL to all of you.

Hi Daisy - thanks for sharing your story, sorry that you have had to deal with a number of chemical pregnancies. It's interesting that with all you have done, it didn't improve your egg quality.....But then would it for someone else??? We are all so different that it's hard to judge....

My issue is age - my eggs are good etc but I just need to keep everything as tip top as I can.....

But I guess at least with looking at a healthier diet - it must be beneficial to some degree. I have lost a stone recently and I can really notice the changes in me - I can only pray that it will help me concieve:thumbup:

Daisy I agree, much of it is chalked up to genetics and we can't control our food, it gets daunting after years of being crazy over everything. And then they tell you to let your hair down and it'll happen naturally HA!

Then there's the autoimmune stuff that many of us have NO idea about or have never considered. I have arthritis in my family and my fs never thought to mention testing for autoimmune problems. Apparently, they don't believe it could be a problem (my FC that is) because there are very few studies done. Logical right? Just like supplements, my fs said there's nothing you can take that will make it better.

Now that we've spent a small fortune trying IVF and IUI's along with Cholimd and all the other know FC techniques we're looking at donor eggs in Czech. The first thing they advised since I have arthritis in my family, is that I go on a low dose of prednisone to cover off the chance that my killer white cells are preventing implantation. Like we're talking 10mg which is half of the minimal lowest dose (20mg). Well hello, how come the clinic couldn't try this out? I'm willing to do ANYTHING at this point! But I can't just walk up to a pharmacist and ask for the meds. I'm very frustrasted.

They said unless you spend $2000-$10,000 on autoimmunity testing with a specialist in this field (not a fertility specialist) you won't have any idea if you have autoimmune related infertility. My husband asked if we could just forgo the tests and treat as if I do and they said, if we haven't been tested and there's any hint of autoimmune problems they do this anyway because they want you to be successful in having a full term pregnancy. I would have liked to hear that from my fs before IVF. I'm relieved getting this news from my coordinator anyway. Have any of you considered this?
