So we're in the process of cleaning up/painting the spare room which we will be moving my toddler into in a few months.

I've been looking around at furniture and trying to get an idea of what to put in his new room, and I realized I have no idea

Obviously a bed... and something to put his clothes in. But anything else? Somewhere to store toys? a chair? What kinds of things are useful?

What do your toddlers have in their rooms?

Thanks! :flower:

Bed, wardrobe, her toy chest, play kitchen and her table and 2 chairs

LO has a big build in wardrobe in her room, so we just store her toys in plastic storage boxes which are kept out the way in that. She's just really got her bed, chest of drawers, bean bag then all her 'bigger' toys in her room (trampoline, kitchen and rocking horse) x

Paige has her bed, chesr of drawers, wardrobe and toy storage unit (a little peppa pig one). Also her play kitchen.

Harry has his Thomas The Tank Bed, 2 chest of drawers, built in wardrobe, ball pit and boat shaped shelves...he has a play room downstairs for all his toys. We are painting his future room soon - can't wait :)

Dillan has his bed and his cot up against it. A large toy box which he cant open. A book shelf, and an arm chair for when i bf him. He also has toys under his bed. His clothes are all in my toom.

DS has a built in wardrobe, bed, bedside table, chest of drawers, a tall thin toy storage unit with plastic colued boxes and the very orginal Ikea Expedit "8 box" shelving unit which store his books and cuddly toys.

Single bed, book case, toy chest, changing table with drawers... we're just renovating too and are in the process of getting built in wardrobes.
I've gone a bit over the top with dinosaur wall stickers, lamp shade and duvet covers :)

Did you get this from Next by any chance? When we move I am re-doing DS's room and my favourite is the Next dinosaur set so far!

Thomas just has his bed and 1 toy box in there. He has deep shelves in the wall for a lot of his stuff and I keep him clothes in our room.

Depends on your childs needs and wants.. Abbys room is more for storage at the moment since she always seems to sleep with me.. But Abby has her bed, her dresser (chest of drawers) and a bookshelf. We have most of her toys in our downstairs play area. If we didn't have the play area she would have a toybox, an anywhere chair, and a small table and chair in there too along with WAY more toys than would ever fit. She has a few baskets on the bottom of her bookshelf I keep a few toys in for the rare occasion she actually is in her room ( :haha: ) and she has a little table that her lamp sits on.

Maria has a built in wardrobe that has her sheets in and her next size up in clothes (and then my stuff takes over the rest of the space), another wardrobe that has her clothes in, a set of drawers on wheels that used to hold toys and now holds clothes (she has too many :dohh:), her toy boxes, her bed (of course!) and her armchair.

Charlie has a huge walk in wardrobe with all of his clothes, shoes, 2 toyboxes, scooters and a bike in it

He keeps all of the tiny figures and toys he's accumalating in these:

Ikea is my friend :)

Rosie I LOVE that tent! I want to get one for Harry but I'm pretty sure he has enough toys. With another on the way I need to keep some space aside in the play room for baby toys also :)

The tent is brilliant - we have a snack and read books in there :haha:

Our lg room has her bed, a thin bookcase, thin chest drawers, canvas wardrobe, her sling bookcase, ball pit and some plastic drawers. On our lb side is cotbed, chair and wardrobe. Xx

Charlie is still in his cot, and he has that, a chest of 4 drawers and a gliding chair for when we have a cuddle before bed while he has his bottle.

With his birthday coming up and me wanting him to be in a big bed, I am going to kit his room out. I am going to move the drawers out (the legs are a bit wobbly so I wouldnt want to leave him in there in a bed he can get out of with a wibbly chest of drawers!) and I have seen a lovely range at Dunelm that does loads of nice stuff. So going to get him the bedside table to put a little lamp on, and unit that has 9 baskets in to keep his toys and I will move his drawers to the spare room and leave his clothes in that. Will have to get rid of the gliding chair though as I would be worried about him climbing on it or trapping his fingers, and then I am just going to put some plastic storage tubs in there with some of his other books and toys. Cant wait, his room is still quite baby-like, so looking forward to turning it into a proper little boys room that he can play in, because all he does in his room at the moment is have his bedtime bottle and sleep! LOL

No, it all started with a groupon offer a few months ago for the first duvet cover, then stickers from ebay, lamp shade off amazon, another duvet set from Argos... :) I cant help myself! going to have a look at Next now and see what they have! Just want to make his room nice before his little sister arrives. :flower:
