Tragedy! 20 children and 6 adults killed in a school shooting in CT. I'm devastated!

Such a horrible event..what i find just as disgusting is people sharing a profile of a "Ryan Lanza" when hasn't even been confirmed that it's that exact facebook profile yet. The poor guy if it's not actually him.
 
Whereas this morning I was eagerly awaiting the birth of my first son, I sit here now feeling his little kicks and mourn for the parents whose children were so mercilessly taken from them. I cannot even imagine their grief. :cry:

Hell just doesn't seem punishment enough.

Why share his Facebook profile at all?
 
The photos of the person the media are releasing on the TV of the guy who it is has been on facebook saying it wasn't them..I dunno whether their accounts been hacked or what? If not poor guy but I see a very big law suit if it isn't..I wouldn't have thought the news channels would be so stupid though and honestly think they've probably been hacked by someone who thinks they're being funny. Every person on Twitter with the name Ryan Lanza and no clear picture is being abused though - That's the one bad thing about releasing a name. Not to mention the people actually doing it are absolute idiots. The guy who did it is lying dead in the school he isn't going to read them why even look for them just to spam them with abuse :wacko: and probably get the wrong person anyway, makes no sense :shrug:
 
Oh my gosh! I'm away from home at the moment so this is the first I've heard of it! When are they going to outlaw guns :'( this doesn't need to keep happening, those poor kids. Rest in peace x

personally they released the name waaay too early before knowing anything. This is why personal i.d. is usually covered before an investigation because of incidents like what just happened on facebook. poor guy was at 14k shares before he had to shut down his profile.
 
It's being reported now that the shooter was actually Adam Lanza, and Ryan is his brother who is now being questioned by police as a possible suspect as well.
They say that his mother was the kindergarten teacher, and they think she was the primary target...he went directly to her room, shot her and the students. :cry:
There's so many reports though, it'll probably be a day or two before all the correct details are clear.
 
As a teacher this makes me absolutely sick! A bunch of other teachers and I had a good cry over this in the faculty lounge as we were at lunch. Can you imagine being in that situation?? My door has been locked and shut all day and will remain so. As a parent you send your kids to school expecting them to be safe - how extremely selfish of some person to come in and take away that feeling of safety you have. After that mall shooting earlier this week- now this. I'm starting to feel like i want to live as a hermit in my basement for the rest of my life.

Like Peanut56 said Ive read it was Adam Lanza, Ryan is his brother but Adam had his ID on him!
They also found their Dad dead at their house!

I read on fb the kids were told by teachers to close their eyes :'(

My biological father lives in America and owns a load of guns; rifles, shotguns, the lot. And not being funny, but he's not someone I'd trust with a gun!

How many people have to be killed and injured- how many lives have to be ruined- before they'll do something about it?

I cannot comprehend it. I don't have the capability to understand why anyone would ever do something like this? I was getting J ready for bed earlier, and just looked into his little eyes wondering how anyone could ever hurt babies/children like him. Innocent people is bad enough, but children? Must have had something wrong in his head for a looong time.

It's worrying when everyone jumps on things like this, some people just don't think before hurling abuse or worse.

The media have no business releasing Facebook profiles anyway.

I think about this frequently too, chick.

I am so devastated by this. 2012 has not been a good year for us. From the theater shooting here in Colorado to now an elementary school shooting, this is terrible. My heart is so broken for the families.

The worst part of this particular discussion is the sooooo many of us are thinking it, questions ARE being asked, and HAVE been asked several times before, but no one ever takes any notice.
 
This is so sad, imagine sending your children to school and this happening?! Somewhere they should feel safe :( my heart goes out to all the children and adults who've lost their lives x
