Hi ladies

I am starting work tomorrow sigh.. and dont really want to continue breastfeeding exclusively for different reasons .. so I would like to breastfeed for night feedings and maybe first morning feed and last feed of the day but I would like zoe to take formula at the daycare exclusively in teh day.. would i need to pump during the day to make sure my milk supply stays regular for night feeds or would my boobs still produce milk at night and morning even tho I dont feed or pump in the day? How does it work. I would prefer not to pump if possible.. advise would be appreciated

thanks!

If you continue to regularly feed at the times you wish to feed (i.e. nights and mornings) then your supply will adjust to suit with no need to pump in between times. I would emphasise the word regularly though, if your LO starts to skip night feeds or to take less at particular feeds you may find your supply drops away quite quickly. I combination fed in the manner you aim to do for a little over 6 weeks, but because Thomas started to sleep through the night and had never taken a huge feed first thing in the morning my supply dwindled and I made the complete switch to FF at a week shy of 6 months.

this is what I do, as as long as you are regular with it your milk adjusts!!
