I had a ER scan at 5 weeks preg and he did a abdominal one at first but then did a vaginal one to look at my olveries and to try and see the baby... Well the tech said he was having trouble finding my left olvery (whole scan took 15-20 min) and there were times he was moving it in and out in and out like 10-15 times in a row (reminded me of a dildo to begin with and him doing that freaked me out) please tell me if this was normal or not... I have had vaginal US with my last 2 kids and my doc did not do this... I would have said something while in there but just figured different techs might have different techniques, trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I don't know. I have had many transvaginal ultrasounds and have never experienced the technician going in and out like that. Side to side maybe and what felt like the probe going a little deeper than normal but not in and out as you describe. That does sound a bit creepy!

That sounds creepy to me. I had a lot of trans vaginal ultrasounds for IUIs done by different techs and none did that to me. When things were hard to see, they angled the probe differently, left or right and pushed a little deeper but never any in and out. Was there a female nurse or someone in there with you? There's supposed to be. That is definitely creepy!

Yeah sorry I think that's a bit creepy too, I've had 5 in total and never did they put it in and out, just moved it from side to side especially when they couldn't find my ovary!

That's weird and creepy. I have had many ultrasounds especially on my ovaries because I have PCOS and that has never happened to me. They just move it left and right or sometimes a little deeper but not in and out and especially not 15 times. Did you have a female nurse in there with you?

Trust your instinct!

I have had 3 since I found out I was pregnant. Never did this happen! Once they are in... They are in. If anything, I've had techs move it side to side to find baby or look at ovaries.

You should inform the facility. You never know if this person has had several complaints.

Just like all the ladies above said, that isn't normal- left to right, yes. In and out-no. Please please please report this guy. I'm sorry that happened to you :hugs:

Ya there was a female nurse In there and my husband too! But my pelvic area was under a sheet...
I'm pretty traumatized :(

I had to lie and say I had to pee so he would stop and let me out of there.

Yes it does sound creepy and I would file a complaint and ask not to see him anymore. I had 3 internal ultrasound and never experienced this.

I am so sorry you had to go through that. Definitely report the creep. And make sure to report him right away. Big hugs coming your way.

Thankyou ladies!! I just called risk managment for the hospital and they are getting ahold of his manager ASAP and said they will be calling me back for sure.

I'm glad they are handling it right away. Please keep us posted.

Usually if you feel weird about it your gut is telling you something is up. I would call the hospital and report him.

What a horrible and creepy experience! It's bad enough having a male doctor (in my opinion), but that just sounds weird. How was he acting while that was going on? I'd definitely report him.

Glad to see you reported it, even if he was just doing his job his own way then maybe he can learn to do it differently. Hope all works out well for you.

That's not how that works! He's a pervert, and you have to report him. I am so sorry that happened to you. You should tell your husband if you haven't already. ((HUGS)). Sorry, didn't read all the posts. It made me so angry I just replied.

I would report it!

However, to play devil's advocate... I have a retroverted uterus and the doctor (a female nurse was present) did have to move it in and out a couple times to find the right place (like twice maybe three and not in a weird motion).. but 10-15 sounds way excessive!

Good for you for reporting it! I'd definitely tell your DH so he can support you too... that is just awful!

Ya my husband is even upset about it, he said to me that he noticed him moving his arm around quite a bit While under the sheet he had over me, but didn't know what to think since this tech was supposed to be a "professional" & in a position of trust ....and here we are in a panic with the only "window" to see inside of me & if our baby was ok (and if I was ok cause of the question of baby being ectopic was in question too) and in the meantime this guy is doing that making me think he's trying to help find my olvery! The creepy tech was even snapping at me for asking questions during the US trying to make sure I was quiet so he could "focus" Now I bet I know why he wanted me to be quiet!
