what do you guys do if you were to go away for the weekend, do you take your whole steriliser?

I had a travel steriliser which I got for about £8 from mothercare, it was big enough for 2 bottles and could be used in a microwave or with milton x

Yeah it's like a bigger lunch box:

I just noticed it has got a bad review but I never had any problems with mine. I put mine in the microwave for 5 mins. What do you mean about the hot water hun? Coz I think it has to be a certain temp to kill the bacteria, so if you just use water from the kette I'm not sure whether it would be hot enough, I'm really not sure tho. Or if you mean can you use it without milton, yes you can :flower: x

We do exactly the same. We have a TT one which we got from Babies R us and I think it was about £14.

when we went to MIL we took a pack of milton tablets and used a big container that MIL had.

yopu get them in boots hun, they are pre sterilised use once bottles, i think you get about 5 in a pack (it used to be 4 - used them a lot with other 2) for 2 or 3 quid
only thing is it depends on lo if they manage them, the smallest teats are medium flow and my lo cant manage them yet, she just chokes lol

I always took the whole sterilieser, even when we flew to Germany. I couldn't be bothered to hassle about with a smaller sterilieser the whole time.

cool, few ideas there. im not actually planning to go anywhere anytime soon  but i was just wondering all the same :)

I have the TT single bottle one, that you can either microwave or use with Milton,x

I promise I don't work for Mothercare but I would recommend the Mothercare Steriliser bottles. They are normal bottles in every way, same price etc, but they can be put into the microwave individually and sterilised without the need for a seperate steriliser unit of any description.

They are £10 for 3 (just noticed they're money off at the moment) and they are brill - Linky

we had the steam sterilizer it didnt take up that much room to take the whole thing, i just put all bottles inside it and when we got there switched it on and made up her bottles! kept the ones i needed before hand in her changing bag, we was lucky annabelle stopped having bottles at just over 9 months so only had a sippy cup and i just put that in milton in a plastic bowl when we went away!

its nice to know that u have options tho hun it can be bit daunting i think going away with a little one when u think about everything that you have to take with you, now cos we go away quite often its not such an issue!
