Hi to all of you lovely pregnant ladies! Were any of you specifically TTC a boy or girl? And did it work?

Although OH and I will be happy whatever, I know he would like a boy first, so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to how we can TTC a boy? I know this will never be exact and I have read about some funny ones in the past...e.g. OH has to initiate the sex rather than me!

Any other good/funny ideas?

Em

I want a girl, but didn't do anything specific to get one. (OH wants a boy though.)

Gender Dreaming has some interesting information on this. Many people don't believe that swaying works, but it might be worth sifting through the information to see if any of it makes sense to you.

The Shettles method is meant to be the most reliable for swaying for a specific sex

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shettles_Method

weve got preg with boys both times, all we did was have sex the day b4 O and day of O x

I lost my Ava in March, but I have 3 boys and was not palanning on getting pregnant I was 40 and my boys are grown. But then surprise i got pregnant and was so happy and with a little girl :cloud9: I know for a fact it was 3 days before my ovulation , don't know if that matters. But I have heard 3 to 4 days before ovulation for a girl and 2 days before ,the day of and the day after for a boy.
Good Luck :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

After 2 boys i was hoping for a little girl when we decided to TTC again, obv a healthy baby was the main thing but i went online and found this ovulation calender https://www.babyhopes.com/ovulation-calendar.html and put in my dates to see when best time was to DTD to increase chances of having a girl and according to the last 3 scans i have had this baby is a girl. I got my BFP straight away when we started trying so was very lucky but i dodnt think i would of stuck to only DTD on certain dates for too long it would of became more of a chore than fun iykwim.
Best of luck hun:flower:

I had a boy after 7 girls!

I tried to sway with my 7th girl but it obviously didn't work. With my son i didn't try anything as such but when i conceived i realised we dtd on ovulation day, i had alot of ewcm and my diet was mainly potatoes, bananas, red meats like bacon and adding alot of sea salt to my food. All meant to favour boys.

I really wouldn't trust Shettles, it's been disproven. I dtd 3 days before ovulation for a girl and got two boys :P

One thing though that has been proven to affect the sex of the baby, is your diet. Though it doesn't sway it by much. For a boy, lots of red meats, breakfast everyday and caffeine. This is where I made a whoopsie cos I have a hard time giving up my breakfast and coke :3

We would be happy with either but we did half heartedly sway towards a boy. I was eating lots of red meat (protein generally) and drinking coffee at breakfast and tea time.

I'm not quite sure when we conceived as we weren't actually trying last month :dohh: and we only dtd that particular day as I thought we were well past OV! I think with Earl we dtd the day after OV but I was never sure with him either lol. For want of a better word we would prefer a boy, but a girl would be just as welcome. Seeing as we will be team yellow we wont find out until they're born, and we already refer to the baby as bump anyway, so we're open to either. What is meant to be will be.

i dont mind either way
i did nothing different this time then
i did with my son its 50.50 no matter

We are pregnant with our 6th we have 4 girls and 1 boy and try a few things to gender sway for a boy, I don't know if we got it right as in only 4 wks 5days but when I do the ring test over my tummy it says boy. Fx'd it's a boy but if it's a little girl we will be just as happy when she arrives : )

we dtd the day b4 ovulation & its a boy :)

well once you have conceived you are able to buy this urine gender test over here. Its over 90% accurate and costs a lot ($189.00) so it might be worth looking into. We might buy it, it all depends how long we can hold out for lol. At 12-18 weeks you can usually tell the gender via ultrasound unless the baby is lying in an awkward position. My SIL was able to know when she was having a boy at 12 weeks since the baby was facing toward them and everything was visible :D and with her girls she was 14 weeks then 16 weeks with her last two. Im praying for a girl and my DH would looove a girl.
I just have a feeling we are having a girl, have had that feeling inside since long before even getting pregnant!! :cloud9:

Thanks for all your comments ladies. Like most of you have said we'll be happy either way, but don't think there's any harm in having a bit of a go at gender swaying anyway!

There is no way to try for a girl or boy. They are all old wives tales just like ways to induce labor. You get what you get. It's funny because we weren't trying for either sex. Although we both knew that we really wanted a girl. We just dtd one night (the night of ovulation) and when looked back did everything that supposedly will get you a boy, and we are having a girl. You get what you are meant to have, nothing you do can help one way or the other.

Read the book 'how to choose the sex of your baby' by Hazel chesterman Phillips! We have 2 boys and would love a daughter but my husbands familiy tend to produce boys. I charted my cycle for nearly a year, hubby wore tight briefs for six months and I took calcium and magnesium supplements. We slowly crept up towards ovulation and I think I caught after having sex 4 days before ovulation.
We are team yellow as still wanted the suprise and feel that if we have another boy then that is fate. Having tried to swing it for a girl and we get a boy then he is definelty supposed to be here. I know that I tried but what will be will be. Hopefully any day soon we'll find out!!!!

We didn't try for either and will be happy with either iykwim?
I would love a boy to have one of each but if i have a girl i will be over the moon:)

Sex on the day of ovulation is more likely to make a boy as they are faster swimmers. We only had sex one day the month we caught on and it was on ovulation day.

Yes I have heard the diet thing before and my diet has always been a diet that would be more likely to produce a boy if it is correct. It could be right with 2 boys and one on the way.
