Hi Ladies!

I am a mum to a 6 mth old daughter, hubby and I are both anxious to give her a brother or sister.

Up until recently I have been exclusively breastfeeding, I am currently reducing feeds to 3x a day and introducing solids. I am taking vitex & maca to assist with AF & hormones. I am not sure how long to wait before taking clomid again.

Anyone in the same boat?? Looking for other buddies to join me on this journey.

Thanks xxx

:flower: Hey there! I believe I am in the same boat :)

I had to use Clomid first time around and it took two cycles. LO is 12 weeks tomorrow and we are now NTNP #2! I will probably continues to do so until after the first of the year at minimum :) I got AF last wednesday and was very happy about it :haha: Maybe things are on the right track! :happydance:

Lets do this together!

Hi. My LO is 7 months, he was conceived on clomid. I stopped bfing and the pill at 3 months and nothing happened, no period, at 6 months I started metformin and oved and conceived but had a chemical. I'm now cd16 since then and waiting to see if I ov again naturally. My body is giving me signs of it but opks have all been completely negative! I'm impatiently waiting out this cycle incase I ov naturally but have one left over round of clomid in the drawer calling my name!

Hi faithforbaby :)

Nice to find you on here, thanks for joining this thread. Congrats your AF returning, i'm jealous (and i say that will all sincerity). Have you previously had struggles with your cycles or was it simply the conceiving end? Are you exclusively breastfeeding? This is my second day of giving my baby girl solids in replacement of 2 out of 5 of her breastfed meals. I was utterly shocked she guzzled down her rice milk & banana moosh in under 5 minutes! hahaha. She doesn't mess around that one!

Sometime i look at her and i think, i really dont want a second one right now as im so enjoying my time with her, and then i am reminded how long a baby takes to cook in the oven and then think to myself, yeah let's start trying i dont want to be waiting months on end like the first time.

I am really hoping and praying that we both conceive our baby #2 without having to wait a moment more.

Xx

Hi hopefulfor1st,

Yay we have another member to share with us our journey. Nice to also find you here. Can i ask was it hard to stop brestfeeding at 3mths? Did you suffer any symptoms or did you wean her slowly? I have reduced my bubs breastfeeds to 3x a day(today is the second day), i am not sure how long to do this for until i reduce it altogether and swap to formula. Should i reduce to 2x feeds and then 1x feed?

I ended up buying 'maybe baby' it's an ovulation device (size of lipstick) cost $70 roughly and it tells me when im not ovulating, close to ovulating and ovulating.

I also bought pregnancy tests bulk online on ebay. Something ridiculous like 50x for $10.

Blessings, and chat soon!

Don't forget to keep us up to date with your progress, and importantly, how your feeling.

I bought a maybe baby too! I had a few days of ferning but I then checked their site and it said not reliable for people with pcos- doh.

I stopped bfing as bub got ill with bronchiolitis and was struggling on the boob but easily took bottle (they don't have to suck as hard) he developed breast refusal and I decided not to force him if he was showing a preference to bottle. We were already mix feeding so wasn't a huge change. Are you introducing formula? If your dropping a bf I would as they say food before 1 is just for fun and shouldn't replace milk.

Nice to find you as well!
I actually never got AF till I was 18 years old, and when I did, it was like 9 days long, and I was hemmorhaging. I couldn' t leave my house because I would go through a pad and a super tampon in 30min. When I was on my way to a specialized OBGYN, I had to stop 30 min into the drive and clean up bc it had gone through to the seat of my car! They never did find out what was going on. I never got AF again after that and consulted my family dr who put me on BCPs to get a period. I took that from 2007 till Feb 11 where I was married and wanted to TTC. I only got 2 periods on my own after that so TTC was super rough and since we were TTC on our own, I took a pregnancy test every Friday, as I never knew what was going on or if I had ovulated. Finally I decided to seek a fertility specialist and after doing blood work he said that I had maybe ovulated 2 or 3 times in my life at best. Levels were low, and he assumed it was due to PCOS. (I had had a history of 2 ovarian cysts rupturing on me :nope: ...no fun!) He went ahead and had me do Provera to get a period and make sure the lining of my uterus was ok. After that I did the clomid and then they would check for follicle size. After he saw the follicles, he had me trigger. It took 2 cycles and worked great for me! (I will admit, I give all credit to God :):flower: I know He has placed people like my FS on this planet for a reason. --> I was always one of those people who said they wouldn't seek fertility..that if I was supposed to have children it would happen. Thats when I realized He is the one who made these people for a reason :flower: My FS was amazing!

Now, I am sitting with her in my lap and I couldn't be more happy! She is the light of my life, and I love her with every ounce of me! I think that if I am able to concieve on my own that would be great! Why block it from happening even if she is only 12 weeks. I have crossed the thought of 'enjoying time with her now' and 'it takes a while to cook, why not!?' I am in the same boat as you :winkwink:

As far as breastfeeding. I did breastfeed up until 9 weeks, but from the 5th day postpartum I then supplemented formula just at night. She slept 12-6 right away doing that. :happydance: She seemed very content with formula and breast milk, so I just slowly over about a week or two weened her. She has done great so far! Sometimes I miss it, and I think I will go longer with #2, but it is so hard when you are a new mom and don't know what to expect. I feel I will be a pro next time! haha! She is 12 weeks today, and I will probably introduce really really runny stage 1 cereal in 2-3 weeks.

Whoa, just realized how long this was...but there was sooo much to say!! Good luck to all of us! Pretty excited to have some buddies!! :happydance:

Looks like we're on the same boat buying the same things lol, oh i didnt know that about maybe baby didnt work if you have pcos? I wonder if it's severe pcos as in proper cysts on the ovaries or the occasional cysts that come and go for most woman (due to hormones) where by some Dr's still diagnose you as having pcos when really you dont have it as it could be gone next week(again due to hormones). They still diagnosed me as having pcos when i dont have any of the symptoms nor show any signs of infertility, yet it took me so long :/ strannnnnge! lol

On a bright note, I heard if you have had pcos before or had difficulty conceiving, the body will know what to do for next time as you have created a new pattern for the body to follow. High five for that !!

Sorry to hear you lil one had bronchiolitis when he was born, that would of made those early days challenging. Ohhhh okay so i should when im ready, switch the 3x breastfed meals to formula? so the day would go like this:

7am breastfeed > change to formula
11am 1/4c rice cereal + 1/4c formula + 1/4c filtered water
2pm breastfeed > change to formula
6pm 1/4c mashed banana or mashed sweet potato(etc) + 1/4c formula + 1/4c filtered water
10pm breastfeed > change to formula

Oh i forgot to mention, i permanently moved from Brisbane Australia, to Houston Texas, been here just under a week. Our air freight arrives tomorrow so i can finally start putting her on a good schedule once her stuff arrives.

If you have any suggestions instead of the above, feel free to share! I was reading a couple baby books, but they were far to fiddly for my liking. (2tb of this root vegetable, 2-3 of this fruit puree, 60-120oz of this formula etc, it confused me even more lol)

Have a BEAUTIFUL day lovely! xxx

Wow wow wow faithforbaby you have a remarkable story. I truly admire and greatly appreciate listening to what you have gone through and seeing the end result of trusting god, dedication and keep pressing on for your dream to be a mother! May we never forget what we have experienced, cried over, yearned over and truly everyday know how lucky we are for what we have been blessed with.

Provera & clomid are 2 medications i know well. I was the EXACT same as you, to be honest i had an ego in the sense where i thought God wouldn't allow infertility to happen to me, 'my mum had 5 children with no problems!' and when we were having problems was confused that God didn't 'heal' me of whatever was hindering conception. I then realised God created miracles, but he also created science, and crazy intellectuals that are good at making modern day woman be mothers!

You already sound like a pro Miss!!!!!! I only introduced running stage 1 cereal this week haha. Though i introduced pureed pea, apples and banana in ice cubes at 4mths.. I've just been crazy busy packing up our lives to get us over to the states here! now i feel i can finally re-focus my attention on little one and concentrate on nailing her feeding as i begin to completely ween.

Have you heard of vitex/chaste tree sweetie? I studied Nutrition and swear by the stuff, at times it was as effective as provera, yep you heard me. The more and longer i used it i found my hormones balanced out(maca powder helps with this) so combination of the two really helped me. AND weirdly enough helped me through the first few months after bub with my mood AND libido as my body reverted back to normal. I think i purchased a year's supply for under $50 each (eBay)

No message is ever too long love! haha!!

Thank you very much! God does wonderous things and He is the reasong we have these little blessings in life! Sooo aprreciative! I am hoping that sense I got a period, things will start to work on their own! I am just taking it day by day over here. Every day I think about LO number two as I marvel over how much I just loove Lydia. I have accepted that whenever God says its time for baby 2, then it is time. No preventing happening here. :) I will give it a good while trying on our own and then maybe go back to my FS. He was sooo wonderful, and the process was painless as his guidance was terrific! I had no idea how much I could love being a mother. The warmth in my heart is over flowing! I

I may have to give that Vitex a go, if things don't continue to fall normally :) I am allll about natural herbs/remedies. My mother in law is actually an herbologist/homeopathic Dr. She is WONDERFUL and it takes most people a year to get in to see her.

The only reason I have not consulted her on fertility is that DH and I have decided to do it on our own that way it is still a surprise to others. We also didn't want the pressure on her, if it hadn't worked. I am a nurse and I do believe in western medicine as well as herbs. I've got the best of both worlds :haha:

heya ladies can i join in? ive been trying for baby two since jamie was 6 months, i think im going to have to take clomid to get pregnant because my cycles have gone to 22 days and i dont think im ovulating, im having bloods done next week to confirm then referred to a fertility clinic, its annoying because we concieved jamie naturally on a cycle we took a break  i wish it would happen again! would love some buddies to talk to

:flower: Welcome RedRose!!

Jace is 7 and a half months almost. He still has formula every 3 hours through the day but sleeps 12-13 hours at night. Even with introducing food he still wants his bott every 3 hours! I'm now on cd19 after my chemical preg (1st natural ov in years ) and waiting to see if I've actually oved! (Opks never work for me) the maybe baby showed peak ferning around day 12 so ill just have to wait n see how accurate it was!

Xxx_faithful ... I forgot to mention I'm from Australia :) im in Newcastle which is like 1.5 hours from Sydney.

I'm so devastated my maybe baby showed pos cd10-14 so I thought I'd oved then but cd20 now and it's positive again.... Guess that proves it won't work with my pcos :(

i have a scope too and the light on it has broken!! god so annoyed! i only got it last month! i have read it can be positive with pregnancy too so might be a good sign

Cd21 today... Hubby is on holidays so I have to tone down the poas! He would freak out if he caught me walking through the house with a cup of pee lol, he gets grossed out easily

Cd22 and my maybe baby is still showing ferning - so frustrated since I was relying on that as confirmation I'd oved! So maybe I didn't.

I laugh with joy because i feel the same way. IT'S CRAZY! Noone ever told me the love grows and grows and grows. People always said you would grasp the baby in your arms and the love would be there, but for me it started small and everyday just gets bigger and BIGGER!!!!!! thats great, you seem to be so relaxed about things, such a great way to be a mum. xxxxxxxx
