TTC #1 at 41 - buddy needed

Hi

As title says I am 41 and TTC 1st baby. My other half is 49 and he has an 8 year old daughter. I know there are lots of people out there TTC but a lot of you seem to already have a child and I really need someone I can talk to who is in the same situation as me TTC #1.

We have been trying for nearly 2 years with no success, we've seen a specialist who reckons the chances of a BFP are very slim even though I am OV normally and OH tests are great. We are considering a cycle of IVF but have to wait for our latest test results to come back first.

It is all so frustrating and I do get very, very down each time AF comes along.

If there is anyone like me out there who would like someone to talk to, please let me know? Maybe we can support each other.

You should try the ttc #1 35+ thread, there are lots of supportive women over 35 ttc their first.

Hi, I'm 40 as is my DH and we're trying for #1 (neither of us has children from previous relationships).

I was TTC for 11 cycles in 2009 but just seeing a BFN every month got too much and I had a relapse of my depression so we took a break in 2010 and started TTC again in March this year.

My DH has less that ideal SA results (low count) and we were warned we may not get a BFP without IVF yet we don't meet the criteria for NHS IVF and we can't afford private So I'm stuck on this rollercoaster of TTC naturally until I get my BFP or the menopause ticks in

You will find loads of support from all the ladies in the over 35 section

Hi Rebecca. I am trying to conceive my first at the age of 40. I will be 41 in 2 months. It will also be the first for dh who is 37. We've only been trying since we got married last June, and actually got pregnant in Jan this year. Unfortunately we lost that little one at 10 weeks, and we are now trying again.

I know your frustration and happy to be your support as we go through this. The funny thing is that if it wasn't for my age I wouldn't be too stressed about having children right now. We've only been married for one year, and dh and I are having a great time with our lives. However, we do both want children, so I just can't afford to put it off for any amount of time

Damn those ageing eggs! Will look forward to sharing experiences with you. My af is due tomorrow!!

There are lots of us in the thread Over 35 TTC #1, please come and join us!! I will support you too, i am 43, and DH and I are ttc our first. We have done 5 IUI's and have been pg 4 times, one of them naturally, but sadly we have lost all 4. We are out of money for insurance, so we are just TTC on our own now, you just never know when that golden egg will show up. We also have our "Whatevers" wagon, whenever you feel like saying Whatever, just hop on!!

Hi - and welcome! I'm 37 and my DH is 44 and we are TTC our first. (neither of us has any) We have been trying for 9 months so far. DH's SA has come back excellent, and I am still impatiently waiting for my appt (in August), though I have been charting and appear to be ovulating.

Welcome RebeccaW4! I only recently joined this forum 37 and ttc #1 for well over a year and always BFN! DH and I both check out so we fall in the unexplained fertility group and RE says BFP is a slim chance for us. we took the next step and I test June 10 after 2nd iui on May 27. This site provides so much information and it is so nice to be on the same journey as so many other 35's ttc! Know that you are not alone!

I am 41, TTC no 1 with OH at 48. We sadly miscarried last year after successful IVF, but we're back at it (like rabbits!) and keeping our fingers crossed. There are loads of us here and loads of older new BFP's over 40. You will find lots of suppport here x

Hi Rebecca!!

Snap! I'm 41 TTC #1 and DH is 48 (3 older kids from first time round). We've been 'at it' since Sept 2010 and not a sniff of a BFP. Have had all my bloods checked, got the from Dr at Xmas, she said we'd not given it long enough and to come back if not preg by the summer - I've got 3 months and counting!!!!!!

You're not alone, I feel the same everytime AF shows but please don't give up, not until Mother Nature tells us otherwise.

Join in on the posts we all share the ups and downs of TTC with tears and laughter, there is never a dull moment here and the support is fantastic.

Hi, I'm 39, DH is 46 and we are TTC our first child. DH's SA is not good (low motility and morphology), so we have to seek help with fertility treatments. We were blessed 4 years ago and conceived twin boys. Sadly, because of pre-term complications, I delivered them way too soon and they did not survive.
After 4 years, we have decided to try again- I will be seeing my RE on July 13th and will begin treatments as soon as we can.
