I've bought a pair of tiny flip flops that I want to use in our announcement when we get pregnant

Today I had the strongest urge to go buy something else...like maybe an outfit. OH always tells me no, he doesn't want to jinx anything. He had 2 MCs in a previous relationship...so buying early really makes him nervous. I want to respect his wishes buuuuut I want to buy something! lol

Would I be horrible for buying something and just hiding it from him?

Also, share if/what you've bought anything already.

*Sorry, ladies. I forgot to add a "didn't buy anything yet" option :dohh:

I have one adorable giraffe outfit that I could not resist buying. Hubby says I'm not allowed to buy anymore until I get bfp though... party pooper lol

lol that sounds just like my OH when I bought the shoes. I only got away with that because we were on vacation and at an outlet mall in Cali and knew we wouldnt be back to get the shoes when I got my BFP

I bought some cloth diapers and nice wool covers on ebay, like in 2007 or 2008. Was the owner of Taking Charge of Your Fertility and a long time FF charter. I gave 'em to goodwill and the library in 2011 or 2012 when I got divorced. I said I was done being hopeful for a while.

I recently bought some clothes for my newborn nephew - they're sooooo cute! I'm tempted to save one outfit for myself, but on the other hand if something does magically happen in the next year I'm sure she'll give them back and we can swap stuff around that she isn't using. I hope we can swap cloth dipies too, unless she's using them again at the time (which is likely). Maybe it won't count as unlucky if I bought them for someone else's baby?

I was wondering that too...is it bad luck for me to give something I bought for myself away to someone I know...would they think of it as unlucky?

I bought a little shirt on our vacation to Barcelona in March. It says "I Heart Barcelona" I plan on using it to announce it to my mom, say something like "oh yea mom, I forgot to show you what I bought for someone else in Barcelona" then pull out the shirt and see what she says. lol

I confess....I bought a crib.....the month we started ttc. In my defense it was on clearance at IKEA for $30 and it is exactly what I wanted (and bright green!). DH just shook his head and helped me haul it upstairs and shove it in the closet.

I've also spent more time than I should admit to researching cloth diapers and trolling craigslist to see if I can find any deals. I haven't bought any diapers.....yet.

Oh I've bought so much stuff! I know it's probably not helping me in the slightest... but I can't help it! Luckily my OH doesn't mind

I've bought more for a girl, only because it's so much easier to shop for a girl. I love anything pink, frilly and sparkly so it's not hard for me to get carried away... My family keep asking us if we do have a girl what will they be able to buy? My OH laughed and said '3 years plus...' :haha:

I'll upload some pictures. I honestly didn't think I had this much until I got it all out, and there's stuff I haven't photographed! x

OMG! I saw so much cute stuff for girls last night at target! Yes, I caved and bought a sleeper set lol. But it's gender neutral...I really didn't want to be specific because I don't want to get my hopes up either way. I thought I would feel desperate afterwards, but it was actually kind of calming/soothing.

Monkeys seem to be the in things at Target right now lol. I hope bears come into season by the time I get preggers lol

I have not bought anything, but I look at clothes all of the time. I think itd be smart to start buying big things, because they are expensive. But DH would probably say no and I dont know if I could look at it. Once I get a BFP Im going nuts though! haha

I havnt bought anything yet. Trying to wait til I get a bfp first.

OH and I were at IKEA a couple days ago and they had these really cute animal puppets. I jokingly asked if we should buy one of each and he said yes so we did! I wasn't entirely sure why we were buying them though. I thought maybe he was thinking for his son but then he made a comment about how one is creepy and will scare the baby and my heart melted <3 haha

I've brought a jumpsuit with anchors on it and a girls little top with an anchor on it, because I love anchors.
But reading this thread and seeing all the wonderful pictures of baby stuff makes me want to rush out right now and get shopping. It's so tempting.

Awwww, how sweet:cloud9:

We are both superstitious so haven't bought any baby stuff yet. Unless you count a book- we purchased the Mayo Guide to Healthy Pregnancy.

Fortunately, my sister is into sock monkeys and had a boy --- lots of monkey stuff to buy for her!! I actually think I got him one of the same outfits she had already for him, but hey, at least I know she likes it! Just another cute outfit to be clean when the other one isn't, who cares if he has two the same?

That's true, oneKnight. I think I would keep doubles of anything I liked so I'd always have a clean one

My husband bought me a rocking chair last month and my best friend was selling her stroller because she didn't like it so i bought if off her. It's a good stroller i couldn't help it! I also make all my friends Minky blankets for there kids and i came across some material that i just loved so i made one for myself.
