My SO and I were not preventing on and off for about 9 months.

We've decided to give it our all starting next cycle- which should be starting any moment. We had no luck during the past months that we did not conceive which was very disappointing to me.

To try to get things right as much as possible, I've started to temp every morning.

I'm just so new at this and would love to hear some stories about when you all just started out TTC and temping.

Thank you!

DH and I started trying in November. We thought it would happen straight away and for the first few months we didn't do anything other than just BD 4-5 times a week. After about 3-4 months I had a feeling something was up.

Around the 6 month mark I was to my GP and turned on the tears. He reassured me and said it could take around 12 months. I pushed for some blood tests and he did them. They came back with my hormones all over the place. I redid two more progesterone blood tests to see if I was Oing and I wasn't. Even though I got a temp rise each cycle, I wasn't producing enough progesterone. I also had an ultrasound which showed I wasn't ovulating either. Now, before the 12 month mark, I'm on my first Clomid cycle.

I've heard women on here and read statistics, if you're not pregnant in the first 6 months, I really believe that it's not going to be quick and easy for you. 81% of women are pregnant by 6 months, 92% are pregnant by the 12 month mark. So if you've given it 6 months already, even not trying not preventing, see a doctor. Even if it's just to run some preliminary testing.

Good luck.

I stopped bc Jan 2015, tracked my cycles starting right away. At about 3 months I started OPKs to see if I appeared to be ovulating after 3 months of regular cycles. I think it was about 8 months ttc, timing BDing based on cycles that I started temping. Everything looked good for me.

Went in to the doctor at 18 months, while NTNP and discovered a polyp and endometriosis.

Hope you get your BFP soon and don't need to get far with tracking cycles and temps, but I agree with Sarah about 6 months.

Hey Purple. Ttc is so hard and the road isn't easy for anyon who has to try awhile. I'm on my 13th cycle even though all of our testing has come back normal. DHs SA was great, my hormones are all normal, I ovulate regularly and have clockwork cycles, I get fantastic ewcm. Despite all of these positives we still can't get pregnant.

I still have to get tubes checked and that will happen next month, and it's possible my lining is on the thin side, I have to get it tested again to confirm. If that's the case the fix could be as easy as an estrogen supplement.

I agree that if it's been 6 months and nothing's happened than somethings up. Unfortunately the docs can't always figure out what the problem is.
