TTC#3 for me and #2 for DH. I'm 38 and DH is 46

Little background. Been thru two cycles of IUI. One on clomid where I had about 4 follicles but lining was not good. That was March 28 with BFN. 2nd IUI was with femara and lining was good but only 2 follicles. Had blood test 2 days ago which was neg 😕

I'm 38 - 39 in Oct - and DH just turned 46 in March. I have 2 boys 15, 13 from previous marriage and he has 1 daughter 20 from previous marriage. We desperately want our own child together but know time is running short as we are already in our 40's late 30's with 3 kids practically grown!

This last IUI I reallly felt I was pregnant. Symptoms seemed to be all there. He even told me I looked like the cat that swallowed the canary - like I had a secret and just couldn't wait to tell people! I felt like I was pregnant but when the blood test came back neg, the same day I had some very light spotting that was dark. I'd been having cramps and shooty pains for literally days. Was wondering if it's unusual to ovulate later after the trigger than what they say - like maybe I'm preg now but the blood test didn't show it bc implantation was later than they would've thought? I haven't fet any symptoms like AF is almost here except now that I'm typing this out, I do feel slightly crampy. But if implantation happened way later bc ovulation maybe happened way later, could this be signs of an impending BFP?

Also, am I crazy for wanting a baby at almost 39 when my 2 are almost grown practically and my other own IS grown!? Sometimes I feel crazy but I (and DH) desperately want one of our own together. We don't have the money to keep trying forever and this next cycle will try timed intercourse with the femara and then talk to the RE about injectables this next week.

Sorry my post is all over the place. First time I've ever posted on anything like this so I'm a little nervous, coupled with the fact that I am anxious about being so "old" and whether or not it's gonna work! I know I'm not OLD, but def older than when I had my other two when I was 23 and 24...

Anyone have any advice or anything? ❤️

I saw that your post was just sitting here, lonely, so I wanted to reply to you. I am 36 TTC #3 for me and #4 for DH who's 42. I took clomid in the past with no BFPs, had our last child after giving up hope and stopping everything for a few months. I just had my second HSG. My first HSG was done about a year before #2 and had no tubes showing until they pushed through my left. They reported my right tube to be blocked at that time. This time, the HSG started out with no tubes showing and they forced both open this round! My OB will give me Clomid but I don't know if I want do that yet. Now I am hoping for my last child from all of this.
