Well I haven't been here for a while! My son is 4 and we have finally decided to try for another baby.

I had my contraceptive implant taken out a month ago, I just wondered if it was the norm that I have not had a period yet?

TIA

XX

I got mine removed at the beginning of June and had a period about 3 days after. I've always been very regular though. We're TTC so I was using some OPK's but never got a positive. Maybe I just didn't ovulate? Seems odd since I got a positive today on the first day of my MISSED AF. It seems like everyone is different after the implant.

Hmmm ok, thankyou :) We did have unprotected sex the day before it was removed and a few days after. Might take a test in a week or so and see if I am one f the lucky people lol

I had my implant out in November and still TTC no. 2! :( x

i had my implant out in april, still no sign of my period 3 months along. :p i am ovulating though, so there's always a chance! just much harder to track.

I had my implant removed in January....Im on cycle 6 now. DR said there is no reason to think my "not being pregnant yet" has anything to do with having the implant. But reading all the comments above makes me wonder?!?

I think my hormone levels are out of wack from the implant. I'm getting blood test on my next cycle if I'm not pregnant this cycle...I'm 4dpo right now. They said test on cd3 and 21 of next cycle.

Anyways, I was the opposite. I spotted for a good 15 days after the removal then had a normal period. And my cycles have been pretty regular since. 27-29 days.

Good luck to all you girls. Hope we all get BFP's soon!

i had my implant taken out in september and have only had 2 af's since then - one brought on with provera and one natural one last month.

we've been ttc since then and nothing.

After reading about a lot of people having the same problem I'm regretting ever having it in now

me too hun, i wish i had never had it. i always warn people against it now. i will never have it again x

My first I had out and conceived within three months, but I'd read up before and took vitex, evening primrske oil and pre naturals, sonnev had an issue with my cycles when it came out.

This time, had my implant out almost 2 weeks ago, started with the vitex when I came out as well as royal jelly and pre Natals and had a period already.

My body has a tendency to go complete crazy and I think these things really help me, after my son I didn't take anything and I had huge problems! I bleed extremely heavy and for weeks at a time, sometimes months. I actually couldn't go out as a Tampx and pad would be soaked though in half an hour whenever I stood up. But for me these things work keep my hormones and cycles in sync.

I have heard people struggling to get pregnancy after the implant but that goes for any hormonal contraception, eventually they will work themselves out.

But if you want to try and jump start your cycles it may be worth reading up on vitex.

Same! I feel well disappointed now reading this thread :( I wish I had not had mine put in now, never again would I have one done again! I had mine out 3 and a half weeks ago! I've been preventing, waiting for AF to arrive, but seems like some of you have been waiting ages! I dont know whether just to start trying now or keep waiting for my period to come back x

Ladies! Try to stay positive! I had mine in for 18 months with a lot of irregular bleeding and no ovulation whatsoever. I had mine out last month and exactly a month later I had a normal ovulation with positive OPK's and everything. I'm 6 dpo now and feeling hopeful but realistic. So try not to stress! It -will- come back to you. :flower:

i tried vitex for over 4 months and nothing. it just got annoying to take 3 times a day and the aftertaste was awful.

i dont think it works tbh, im losing faith in any herbal remedies.

this isnt a positive thread for us ladies in waiting :(
still no AF for me

I'm not saying it works for everyone, it defiantly works for me, very long irregular cycles without it, perfect with it.

How long have you been TTC?

almost a year now. but i've been diagnosed with pcos as well now so... fun times :/

No AF for me too! Ive never been so desperate for AF to arrive! I just want it to come so I know where I am with my cycles and can start trying!

Ive read loads of people got spotting a few days after removal, Ive not even had that x

I havent had any spotting either flower.
just sore boobs, aches, increased cm for three days then nothing.
waiting and hoping xxx

I had mine out on on the 27th of June, AF came on the 30th and lasted 5 days.
I have opks and they are getting darker as I'm on CD12 now and hoping I get a positive, I'm really hopeful though.
I got pregnant 2 months after I came off the implant and was using condoms and the pill then MC and 3 months after my MC I found out I was 5 weeks along with my son.

There is hope xxxx

I had the implant in for 3 full years, it was taken out in April 2011. My dr said the effects could take up to 18 months to leave my body. we are now going on 27 months TTC our first with no BFP in sight. Fertility specialist appointment last month, HSG, Hubby's sample done and just had 21 day bloods taken today. Find out results on 24th.

But on a brighter note my Sister in law has had 2 beautiful baby girls in 21 months, after having 2 consectutive implants in for full 6 years.

There is always hope. fingers crossed and baby dust to all.
