Hello ladies,
I'm new to Baby&Bump and wanted to introduce myself. I'm a 33 year old professional. I spent my 20's switching between enjoying my youth and independence (ok...I partied a bit...lol) and focusing on my career and furthered education. June 2014, my husband and I tied the knot!
I had been off of my birth control for 11 months, when I got a happy surprise during our spring break vacation in the form of a BFP at 8 dpo! We weren't even trying, but hadn't been preventing either. In fact, I only tested on a fluke because I had been complaining about fatigue at work and my assistant joked that I was pregnant. I blew her off, but a part of me wondered, so when vacation hit I bought a test on a whim. I took the test in the late afternoon and, four minutes later, I had a faint, but obviously there positive on a FR. I tested again every other day for the next week because I was in shock and couldn't believe it! Sure enough, that pink line got darker and darker every day.
I was so excited to be a mother! I was already picking out names and day care providers at 5 weeks. On April 24, my husband's birthday, we went in for our first ultrasound. I was 7 weeks pregnant. We held hands as we saw our baby's image pop on the monitor, and cried together as we were told that our baby had no heartbeat. We were heartbroken.
After 5 days of waiting to miscarry naturally, I decided the stress of not knowing when or where it would happen was too much. I went in to the doctor's office to have a second ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis, and ultimately scheduled a D&E on April 29th. I was sad, but relieved that it was done and over with.
My doctor assured me that we could try again after two cycles. So, I got my first period after the D&E in the first week of June and took a OPK to confirm ovulation. My cycles returned to normal like clockwork, although everything felt a bit more swollen and achier than usual.
I had my second period post op the first week of July and a OPK indicated ovulation on July 14 so we BD that night. We are now in the TWW and hoping for a BFP on July 30th!
I'm crossing my fingers for a rainbow baby!
