We were originally going to try after wedding but moved it back 2 years ish to buy a house but we realised we don't need to own, the houses we could get a mortgage on aren't that nice and we could rent nicer places. We might buy eventually but we decided not to make it a deciding factor when TTC. OH has always debated moving down south to work with his uncle, he has decided against it for now but he likes to keep it as an option so really we can't be tied down to a property anyway  But that means the good news.... we can try after the wedding :happydance: Which means it's not that long to go

Yay!!! Really pleased for you!

Kind of in a similar boat...ish :) we own now, but we're moving from UK to USA in about 6 months, still not sure if we'll sell up or rent our place out. Either way we'll be renting when we move until we decide if we want to stay and then think about buying. Makes no difference to when we TTC #2 if owning or renting as long as we have some kind of home!!!

Congrats on your wedding and baby dust to you when you start TTC!!!

Thanks :) Aw that's kinda more similar than you know, OH works at a company (janitor but they pick insider staff to train up for higher positions, welding/electrician etc) and they also do staff swaps for all levels of emloyees with their other base in Texas so he is considering doing that one day. That or going down south to work with his uncle, he has been asking him to come down for a while but he said he doesn't feel it's a good time so who knows where we will be 5 years from now. If we buy it would stretch our finances and if OH does decide to move anywhere for work it would mean we couldn't afford our mortgage plus renting and i don't like the thought of being a landlord so i'm kinda relieved  Maybe once we are comfortable that we will stay in an area we will think about buying. We are jsut glad it wont stop us trying now! :haha: We know it might be harder to get a mortgage with a baby/child but would be harder for us finacnially having a house we can't sell and trying to find a tenant to rent our place, plus having to find a new place wherever we go ... renting may not be the "norm" but it's not the worst thing in the world, if anything breaks it gets fixed to no charge for us, and quite frankly we have a bargain of a house just now which means we can save for holidays and a new car
