So after lots of discussions and going backwards n forwards for the past year, my husband and I have decided it's time to ttc baby number 3. We are blessed to have a daughter who's 11 and a son who is 4, however with those two they weren't really planned although very much wanted .. My daughter was conceived whilst on the pill and my son was an ooopsie baby .

It feels so exciting to actually have planned it all this time and as it will probably be my last (although Hubby wants 4) I want to enjoy the whole the experience. I've been OPKing for the past few cycles and had what was possibly a chemical last month which has led to us sitting down n deciding it's the right time.

We have decided to go down the natural route and just to see what happens, however I know I'm already obsessing about where I am in my cycle n will start OPKs over next couple of days so thought I'd share with you ladies on here
My last period started on 9th Sept so I'm cd 9 today ... We had unprotected sexy time last night so we have officially started ttc ....eeeeek !!!

I am ttc #2 and would love to buddy up! This is our 6th cycle of trying for #2, but we had a bit of a stressful summer, and were not able to BD around O for some cycles, so I finally feel like we have a good chance now that things have calmed down!

I am currently on CD4 and have a 26 day cycle, usually O around day 13.

Are you planning on charting or using OPK's or anything? I don't chart, I always forget to temp, but I will use OPK's starting around day 11. I also bought preseed this cycle just to try something different!!! I really really want to be pregnant by Christmas. FX for you!!!

Yes I'm OPKing .... I'm currently on cd13 n lines are getting darker but not quite a positive yet. We haven't BD yet (other than 6days ago) but should do tonight and tomorrow so fingers crossed its in time.
Do you find its all you can think about?? I feel so obsessed but know I need to relax about it. I'll post a pic of my OPKs so you can get some test porn ... Would love to see yours when you start testing!!

I'm trying for #3. Kind of I guess lol

It's probably not going to happen, and things right now are making it seem unlikely. I only have a very small window in which we can be successful before we have to put it off for a couple of years.

I'm having issues with my cycle, of course. I had Paragard put in at the end of March (non hormonal) as I thought we were done, but then we ended up decided to try this fall (and if not in a couple of years), so I had it removed at the end of August.

Since getting it in my cycles have been irregular. I'm going on almost 2 months now since the start of my current cycle. It's not a normal issue for me. My midwife isn't concerned about it and thinks conceiving is still possible as long as I don't go 3 months without (which I'll be approaching in no time).

So I'm really just waiting to start my new cycle. I've had some screwy things going on lately though. I spotted Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Monday evening I had twinges on my left side for a few hours which was followed by a little more spotting.

I just started temping a few days ago hoping to gain some insight or maybe see if I ovulate at some point in the next month or so. I considered that maybe the twinges Monday evening was ovulation pain, but my 3 temps so far doesn't indicate that was the case.

I'm here tentatively and honestly just starting to feel discouraged.

Fingers crossed for Spunky!!

I got my positive opk this afternoon and then even darker this evening. We have just dtd so fingers crossed they are on their way!!! We hopefully get another session in tomorrow -- I'm unsure whether will on Friday, however I am likely to ovulate tomorrow (cd14 of a very regular 28 day cycle) so fingers crossed tonight and tomorrow will do the trick. Can't believe we are finally doing this ... Sooo excited xx

I FINALLY started today. That was a 55 day cycle. I can't remember the last time I had one that long (several years!). It was a relief. I just don't know how long this cycle will be, so I really have no idea what to expect for ovulation. I might have to suggest that we try every 3 days maybe and see if that works? I really don't think our schedule would really fit every other day.

Monkers: How do you know when to use the OPKs? and how often? They seem very intimidating to me, but I also wonder if that might help this cycle, but at the same time I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing and can't afford to use them most days to just try and figure out if / when I should be ovulating.

Glad you finally started today and praying you don't have such a long cycle again this month.

For me knowing when to use OPKs is pretty easy as I usually have a regular as clockwork 28day cycle so I start testing around cd11 . I usually test in the afternoon n when I see the colour starting to change I test throughout the day! Mainly because I'm a poas addict!! The ones I use are really cheap off Amazon ... Something like £4 for 30 of them and free delivery aswell.

I guess it would be pretty hard for you to tell if you were having irregular cycles however you could go off other symptoms such as change in cm and then test?? I don't think they are intimidating... You just wait for the colour to get as dark or darker than the control line then you should ovulate soon. I hope that helps. You can always share photos on here for any help too

I didn't managed to get any BD tonight, Hubby n I ended up in argument so things aren't good between us right now just fingers crossed that once was enough this cycle ... It's going to be a long TWW xxx

How often did you test throughout the day? Is there a specific time of day that's best?

I'm doing a bit of a combination of things. I'm temping, but obviously it won't help in the short term, but still wanted to do it. I'm also checking CP and CM, but it might not be totally reliable for me. With my daughter, I was able to easily identify changes in both. With my son, changes in both seemed very mild so it was hard to pinpoint. So far the changes in both have been easily noticeable, so I'm hoping it stays that way!

I ended up ordering one of those saliva microscopes where you look for ferning. I've read that you start getting partial ferning before you'd normally start getting positive OPKs. Not sure how true that it, but I thought I'd give it a shot. I also ordered 50 OPKs. Both should be here Monday when I'll be on CD 5.

I'm not really quite sure how I plan on doing it, but I'm thinking the microscope daily and then OPKs once I start getting partial ferning (if I do) or maybe start them daily on a certain CD (not sure which). FF has estimated CD 24 for ovulation, but with this new irregularity who knows. I got 50 OPKs pretty cheap, so I'm thinking if I manage to go through 50 quickly I'd be okay with ordering some more.


I'm sorry you ended up arguing and not being able to BD Hopefully the timing was right this cycle and that once was enough. When do you anticipate being able to test?

Hi ,

The afternoon is the best time to test ... But as the line started getting darker I tested maybe 3/4 times a day.
Fingers crossed the changes stay noticeable for you, and you can detect ovulation easily. I've never heard of ferning will have to have read about it. As you've got 50 OPKs I would prob do one once a day from around cd 11 just to be covered. Then as soon as you start to notice a change in the line darkness test a few more times a day.

I'm 3dpo or 4dpo today ... I think I will test around 10dpo - but I'm kinda impatient lol!! All is good with me n Hubby now - and I'm staying positive I know that when we did dtd although it was only once the timing was good so fingers crossed.

I don't want to wish the time away but the days are dragging!!

I'm ttc our 3rd. We have two children 9 and 3. We've been backwards and forwards with this decision and keep changing our mind. But I think we are going to ttc I'm absolutely terrified and really excited aswel!

I'm not using opks yet(I get a bit obsessed!) but will start in a couple of months if I've not got a Bfp.

We've started now. I came off the pill 2 or 3 weeks ago and have had a withdrawal bleed but not sure where I am in cycle. Going to track better next month!

hi ladies! sorry i disapeared for a bit! im back and today is cd 3 i took my first 50mg of clomid im also on antibiotics called cephalexin for a tooth problem 4 a day so im praying it doesnt affect the clomid! gl to all of u and babydust!!!!!

Hi, I'd like to join as well.

I have two boys and we are currently in our fourth cycle TTC our third. It was hard to decide to try for one more because we only have one income (mine) and we are living in a two room apartment (rented). But we're not doing badly and I'm sure we can afford one more. Well, if we can get pregnant. I had quite a lot of problems when TTC our first and I consider my boys miracles so there are no guarantees I'll get pregnant again.

We would like a girl this time so we're trying to time our BDing to a couple of days before O. I'm using OPKs, I start on CD 11 or 12, they're usually positive around CD14/15.

I'm on 6 dpo today and Will be testing in 6 or 7 days if AF doesn't beat me to it.

I would love to chat while waiting for our BFPs. Still, I hope none of us has to wait for long. Good luck to us all.

Katy we are in a similar position. I'm a sahm and we live in a 2 bed house. We figured that it'll be manageable for a couple of years then We will look at moving and dh should have had a promotion and decent pay rise (hopefully!) by then. We have 2 girls and I'd love a boy but a girl would be more practical for room sharing. Not sure where I am in my cycle so going to give it 2 weeks and test if no af.

At the moment all four of us are sleeping in the bedroom but my OH and I are planning to move to the living room and the kids will get the bedroom at some point. If there are three boys they can share I guess but it'll be crampy. So we'll still most likely have to look for a new apartment sooner or later. This one is pretty cheap though so we'll have to think hard about it. Well, who knows what the future will bring... We might win the lottery .

Hi all, sorry I disappeared over to the pregnancy test page as I had quite a few positive test this month but unfortunately they didn't get darker and this evening I am bleeding with bright red blood. So although I'm disappointed n feel deflated it's onto cycle number 2 for our baby no.3.

How are we all and where are we in our cycles? xx

I have no idea where I am in my cycle I can't remember when I came of the pill or when my withdrawal bleed was so u think I'm going to test in a week or so if no AF. I've been feeling sick on and off and a bit weird but I know coming of the pill could be messing with my body a bit so in trying not to read to much into it.
